This brush is amazing!! After trying half a dozen other brushes on my bosses Aussie's (I'm a House Manager), I got this one to try. Their fur was long and would easily knot from all of their running. They needed a lot of brushing, especially during the shedding seasons. It was like tumble weed valley in the house! This brush makes it so easy to brush dogs with thick, sheddable coats! It took so much more fur out, and got through any knots so much easier too! It honestly way surpassed my expectations and I am so happy I tried this brush! Highly recommend!

I have a ton of fur-babies as well as rescue and groom so I am very familiar with fur types as well as breeds. Each fur-baby has a different coat/fur type that all require different brushes. So its shocking that I had never used a rake type brush before but when I saw this I thought why not give it a try. To my surprise it actually works quite well with certain fur types. The best type of fur that I've found it works with is the fur on my pomeranian. It also has worked great on the chows I've tried. It did not work though on short or smooth fur, even if they had an undercoat. Ive found that it really needs to be a dense undercoat for this to work well. For example, the rake has not worked on the following breeds Ive tried it on - dachshund, schnauzer, corgi, lab, pitt, and some mixed breeds. The results have been mixed as far as working on springer spaniels and retrievers as it works wonderfully on some but others not so much. Since every fur-baby can have different fur, I definitely think this rake is worth a try especially if you have a fur baby with a double coat/undercoat/dense coat. Not only do I like the results of this rake on certain fur but there are features this rake has that just don't compare to other brushes. Other brushes have flimsy metal pins which jab and poke my fur-babies causing them pain as well as, if the fur is too thick, it does not get deep down to the lower layers/undercoat which then can leave the fur to mat. However, with this rake having the stiff, solid, and tapered steel pins that are wider than pins, rounded, and have round tips - it doesnt jab fur-babies but yet gets down to the undercoat with ease. Other types of brushes use a sickle style method which I've had issues with these ripping fur out however, I haven't had this rake even slightly catch on fur so brushing has been very smooth. These type of tapered steel pins are easy to clean/remove hair too. I really also like that the rake has a rubber handle. The rubber handles gives you great grip when brushing and feels nice in the hand. The only thing I would like for this rake to have is a more affordable price point. Being it doesn't work on all fur means you have to have other brushes so the expense of purchasing multiple brushes adds up and can get quite costly, so this type of cost is a bit high for just one brush that has limited abilities.

It just gets the heavy undercoat out easily!!

I like to groom my Shih-Poo and like buying a new brush or comb occasionally. I should have looked at the pictures. From brushing my fluffy dog, I did not see much difference. He has an undercoat and a slicker brush works best. It can be found searching for detangling brushes also. I have tried many brushes and this seems to be a good one. It is well made and will not have broken teeth or other problems. I will be giving this to my daughter who has a German Shepherd and a Labrador. If I had a dog with a slicker coat, this would be perfect.

Was very excited to get it. Beautiful design, came in a nice box. As a groomer for over 30 years I can say not all rakes are created equally. Compared to Oster, and Vibrant Life Rakes it falls very short. Barely pulls any shedding undercoat hair out. Can't seem to find the other 2 brands which used to cost around $7. They were excellent. Luckily I still have one. So with disappointment the search for a shedding rake that does the job very well continues. For adult German Shepherds forget it. This isn't the one. Darn!
