Does a wonderful job ..easy to use!!

I have a 3 year old goldendoodle who needs to be brushed a lot. Goldendoodles tend to get mats (tangles) easily and once they do they need to be shaved because it is very painful for them. I brush my dog 4-7 times a week because of this reason. I have a really nice, expensive brush but was looking for something smaller to use on her face, legs, etc. I was really excited for this brush to come. This brush works wonders for my dog's face, neck, ears, and legs. It is also very ergonomic-does not hurt my hands while I am brushing her. Only drawback: There is a feature you can press to have the hair come off the brush. This does not completely get the hair off the brush which is a bummer.

My dog is about 20 pounds and maybe a foot long. This brush covers him pretty well. But I wouldn't recommend it for any larger dog, since it would take too long to brush everywhere. It's also not self-cleaning at all: you have to press the button to get the hairs to rise to the top of the brush, and even then (and maybe my biggest complaint) it doesn't actually fall off the brush, which is what it should do. You still have to pick out the hair by hand. This is the whole point of this brush.

It's a relatively small brush and would work better for XS or S dogs. My dog is about 50 lbs and has double layer of coat. It's been working for him, but it definitely takes awhile, and the bristles are a little short for what would probably work best for mine. I really like the self cleaning option because it makes taking out the fur really simple. However, if you aren't careful with it, one of the bristles might accidentally stick out. Then when you try to retract it back from pushing it for the cleaning, it might get stick and you have to make sure the bristle is back in its right place before it can retract. In this way, it's a little cheaper than I'd hope. Overall, works but can be better.

Both of my cats are happy with this brush. Well, sort of. Unfortunately, the longhair one doesn't like being brushed as much, needs it more, and doesn't go for much brushing at all. But she also likes this one okay, and will take a bit of brushing from it. The shorthair one is quite happy with it. A few things would make it a bit better for me. One is that the button is quite big, and in a spot where I feel like resting my finger when using it. Obviously, that doesn't work! I'm not sure where else it could be, just that the location seems a bit in the way. The second is that the angle is pretty good, but I wish it were angled just a tad more. The third thing is a big one for me. I was able to review a similar brush, and the push plate is thicker on that one, going clear to the top of the bristles. This one has a thinner push plate that doesn't go above the bristles. What happens is that it will push the fur to the top of the bristles, but not all the way off. So a thicker plate would help a lot in being able to remove the fur from the bristles.
