This Gateron switch puller is better than the ones that come with a lot of hot swappable keyboards. Its more precise and easier to use. The cap locks in better and doesnt get all scratched up. The switches are a bit harder to pull out than caps but with this switch puller its easier.

I have so many keyboards so of course I've also got a lot of the generic key/switch pullers. I've also tried a lot of these kinds of "automatic" pullers and this is the first one that works really well. I was able to completely swap key caps from one keyboard to another in only about 5 minutes where it might take me 10 to 15 minutes with one of the pullers that come with these keyboards.

If I were just reviewing the switch puller this would be a five star review. I was able to remove all of the switches from a 96% keyboard in a fraction of the time it normally takes with the typical ones. The design is perfect for easily pulling switches right up against the top or bottom edge of the case where there is not enough space for a regular switch puller to fit. The way the switch basically launches out of the bottom when you press the button is incredibly satisfying and fun. Unfortunately, the keycap puller seemed to wear out after ten pulling keycaps. One of the prongs is slightly weaker than the other so it is like the keycap pulling equivalent of a claw machine. I mainly bought this for the switch puller so I'm not too bummed out. If you just want this for pulling switches it is absolutely worth it. For keycap pulling I would stick with the tried and true wire type over this.

This made switching from Jupiter Bananas to Baby Kangaroos easy as pie! Using this switch puller, the switches came out quickly and completely undamaged. This could be the best $14 I've spent in a very long time!

I wasnt expecting this to work so well. The keycap puller especially seemed like it would be awful but its actually halfway decent. Still faster using a regular old wire puller for keycaps but if your aim is to be able to place keycaps neatly back into a tray easily then youll save a little work. Where this shined for me was the switch puller - its way easier and more comfortable than using most other designs. I do still prefer my WS titanium puller to some extent but if youre changing out an entire board this Gateron one is more comfortable. It ejects switches pretty forcefully (like you can shoot them across your desk easily) so just watch out for that. My main gripe is that the button to release switches/keycaps is kind of awkwardly placed and this means Im usually adjusting my grip to press it.
