We enjoy the original characters in the first game more than this expansion set - these are very difficult to play, so not as enjoyable. Good quality, some new dynamics, but very tough to understand all the dimensions of each spirit.

Four new promising spirits, a new adversary and some scenarios. Not a lot of content for the price, especially considering Branch and Claw has waaay more in it for less. But nonetheless, its a great addition to Spirit Island provided you absolutely adore the game and want more. It's hard to go wrong with more! It can technically work as the second purchase after buying base game but then I'd question "Why?". It doesn't feel worth it if that's the case. Nothing here changes the base game at all, so this is best considered if you already have at least 1 expansion like B&C or Jagged Earth. It could also work as a gift for someone who is into SI since its likely to be a bit further down their priority list for SI content.

Pretty much for Spirit Island completionists only -- you *really* have to love the game to get down to this particular expansion, which adds four *very* complex spirits, each with super unusual aspects. But if you've played SI a bunch of times and feel very comfortable with the complex spirits, then this package is right up your alley with spirits that are so unusual, they actually change the nature of the game not only for you but for the other players as well. For example, one of the new spirits can connect any part of the island to any other for purposes of... well... anything. That turns the whole island into a four-dimensional maze that can be brain-breaking if you don't know the game really well. Another new spirit is a very powerful offensive fire spirit, but rapidly spreads blight across the board as it attacks so requires some management by every player. If this sounds awesome to you, then by all means pick this up, or if you have a friend who has everything else for SI, then this is a good last thing to challenge them with. It also includes a few new cards of various types to add to the other decks that aren't nearly as wacky as the four included spirits. :-D

Delivery/Shipping It took more than 2 weeks before I got it, tho I got the item as advertised and in good condition. So, I guess it's worth the wait.
