I got this to help protect my phone in the dry sauna. It does help, but it's so light that there's just not enough volume to do so for long. I still find my phone getting pretty hot around the 15 minute mark. Still, better than before when it would be almost too hot to hold within 5-10 minutes.

Extreme cold is about as dangerous to a phone as extreme heat so I was shocked when this arrived and it is basically just a magnetic ice cube. You put it into your freezer and when your phone overheats you just clip it to it! Well unfortunately you also gets moisture which can, and will, work it's way through your phones plastic case it the form of condensation on the inside of the case and destroy your electronics within your phone rather quickly! While I can not recommend this for use on/with any cell phone I have found a very useful purpose for it as an ice pack to cool down dog hair trimmers while clipping our dog. Anyone that has ever shaved a dog (or horse, sheep, etc.) knows how quickly the metal blades heat up - well when they get hot just grab this little guy and click it to the metal blade, let sit for a few minutes and your blade will be cool to the touch and ready to go much quicker and easier than holding a traditional ice block to the blade!

The media could not be loaded. My expectations for this were measured: Ive wrapped my phone in freezer packs before andwell they work, but its a bit of a hassle and mess. This is a step up: essentially a slim, easy-to-use, ice pack that magnetically attaches to a MagSafe phone (or other similar magnetic designed phones). Its defiantly well-made for what it is: it has the appropriate protective padding on the magnetic side, a strong magnet, and a shell that one can actually hold and doesnt feel like youre grabbing a fistful of ice! Still, I wouldnt hold it becauseheat transfer is still a thing. But its apparent that this was designed with the idea that the cooling power is concentrated on the attached portion of the phone. I use a case with it which probably makes it less effective, but Ive noticed that it doesnt really appear to result in much condensation, which is always a major issue when using an actual ice pack. On the flip side: since it is attaching via the magnetic adapter, it is only as large as the magnetic module, so thats smaller than most ice packs. Still, convenience wins the day for this. If youre looking for some passive cooling, this might help. I didnt measure any internal temperatures so I cant speak to its effectiveness, but it does give me some piece of mind when Im editing a video for a long time on my phone (which otherwise can result in the phone getting a bit too hot for my comfort). Not at all what I was expecting, have to freeze it before using, I am better off putting the phone in the freezer, sorry not for me.
