This Ikasa Plushie Lion is a winner. I have noticed that lions are showing up more in nursery decor if you are looking for a baby gift. He arrived in a nicely decorated window-front (giftable!) box, looking right out the window at me with an inviting look. He is soft and fluffy, very cuddly. Every accessory on him (nose, tail, ears, whiskers, foot paws) is sewn on or embroidered well, however, his eyes are the typical plastic buttons you often see on stuffed toys. I can feel the backs of them through his fur so am wondering if they could come off and pose a choking hazard, so beware of that with babies/toddlers. The only place I see a warning to only give to children ages 3+ is on a sticker on the bottom of the box (which will likely be thrown away). He is made of and stuffed with polyester; his tag has a "machine wash allowed" icon on it but he'll need to be air-dried. My suggestion to the manufacturer is to embroider the eyes on instead of using standard buttons. I know they can do it since he has embroidery on him in other areas. That would make him a perfect gift for a baby shower & give him a 5 Star rating!
