A friend of mine got me into diamond painting recently. I'm a super beginner. I'm in-progress on my first project. So I grabbed this one as a secondary project for me to tackle with it being at the 12x16 size (I'm currently working on an 8x10). The art is easy to read and looks to be quality. I haven't started yet, so I'll have to revisit this review if I run into any issues. I can already tell you the setter tool is awful and if you are just starting out, it will be fine to get you started but plan to buy a better one. The metal single drill end will be fine but the plastic tips... don't even bother. They stink at best on the the two other tools of this freebie type I have tried. They are too thick to see what you are doing to put the drills down... if you can get the tool to even pick them up (yes, with the wax)! The wax should be fine... the freebie wax I have received in two other kits is working beautifully so I no reason to believe this won't. I like these little trays that come in these kits and the more on hand the better. They are good for smaller projects with a lot of colors. And it's great to have a bunch of them to have a lot of colors ready to go. Not of fan of working with bags for the drills. I put mine in a bead storage container. I'll use the bags for the leftover drills once the project is complete. Always good to have extra bags around. That is for sure. The art is lovely. And it appears to be nicely printed and the glue (on the canvas) seems to be fairly sticky. Since it's still a bit on the smaller side, as is the case with all diamond art, the smaller the piece and the more detailed it is... the less the detail will be in the piece up close. That is just how diamond art is. It's essentially pointillism. Unless you are working on a very large piece, the detail doesn't come together without standing away from it, when it's really detailed piece. Again, I've not started working on this kit, so I'll have to revisit the review once I do if I run into issues. Yet, it does seem like a pretty great little kit... in comparison to what is available out there. Take into consideration the few caveats mentioned and at the price point of $8.99... you really can't go wrong to find out if you enjoy diamond painting as it includes what you need to find out. Are the tools perfect? No... but it's good enough to get through a small project that is a beautiful piece.

Not a favorite because the final picture is not the clearest I have worked on and at higher price point than other clearer choices out there (even from this same seller). Thus, the removal of one star. On the plus side (especially for a first timer), the legend is very clear cut, using numbers and letters in chronological order. The stickiness isn't one of the best, but it does allow for some slip if you position your drill in the wrong spot. I don't delete stars for the tools provided, as again, at this price point, one cannot expect the greatest of tools. Just buy a better "pen" and use it on this and any future purchases. It is a very relaxing hobby to me. There is no shortage of drills and the kit provides little baggies for some storage when completed. Again, buying a pack of little extra baggies is not a big deal so don't fret about not getting one for each color. Are you really wanting to save all the extra drills which just takes up space in your house.
