This rosemary was so fresh and am glad I found it. The price is excellent because you get a lot more in this envelope than than you get in those jars in the grocery store.

This organic rosemary arrived in a heavy duty resealable pouch to maintain freshness. It's chopped finer than what I'm used to but that wasn't an issue for me. I transferred the rosemary to a glass shaker jar with a funnel. We've used this rosemary a few times in poultry dishes and in focaccia bread and it was delicious. I still prefer the brand I get from a local spice store but not to the point that I won't use this. I'll mainly be using this in breads and sauces and it will work great for those purposes. Overall, I think you get a good value for the amount of rosemary that you receive and it's made in the USA.

The bag I received was shorter looking than the one in the picture. But it was the full 4oz, so no problem there. The wideness of the bag makes it a bit hard to find a good place for it in the cubbard though. The taste is good for dried rosemary, and it seems fresh. The leaves are chopped smaller than what I get at the local grocery. But it works well in the recipes I've tried. So, it is fine.

I cook pretty much every night of the week and I prefer cooking from scratch, so I do go through good amount of herbs and spices during the course of a year. My husband has high blood pressure so I find it better to create my own herbs lens rather than use premade packets, which contain a lot of sodium. Rosemary is a staple herb in our house, and we use it several times a week. For this reason, I do like that the bag is very large, but for a household that doesnt go through as much rosemary as we do, this amount might be too much. The bag opens wide, which makes measuring easy, but storage is awkward because its so big - Luckily I had an empty container into which I poured about a months worth of rosemary, and its now among all the rest of my spices. The rosemary was unexpectedly ground up or something, and was not whole leaves - they were smaller and almost a bit dusty. This is definitely a deterrent, but it did not really affect the flavor so I only deducted one star for that. Overall I think its good value, adds good flavor, and is a good addition to my spice cabinet.

I prefer to use fresh herbs for cooking and only use dried when in a pinch. HOWEVER- dried ORGANIC herbs are PERFECT for making beauty products! Many people do not know that Rosemary has anti-inflammatory properties and can help with dry irritated skin, rejuvenates the scalp and helps with hair growth. I love using rosemary hair oil on my scalp and then combing it into my drier, graying strands (a little goes a long way and a few drops is all you need!). These rosemary leaves come in a decent sized, resealable pouch and smell fragrant and fresh. The leaves are not whole, but for the most part are not crushed either. The pieces are large enough that it looks really pretty in bottles of homemade beauty oil that I made and gave as gifts. I just put a good Tablespoon or so in the bottom of a Mason jar and filled the jar with Argan Oil. Left it sit on the window sill where the sun comes in for a few weeks. Strained it into smaller, 2oz dropper style bottles and dropped a few dried rosemary leaves and a few dried lavender buds in the bottom for looks. Wonderfully moisturizing beauty oil with a ton of antioxidants! I have used it on my hair, skin and cuticles. It's so easy to make at a fraction of the price of buying at the store and is unique for gifting. You can adjust to your preference by using different oils (sometimes I will use Jojoba oil as well), or mix with different herbs/essential oils for scent (mint or citrus goes really well with rosemary too!). Very reasonably priced for a large amount of quality, organic product.
