Good supplement. I will be buying more.

It's confusing how there are several products listed so I want to make this clear, I am ONLY reviewing the N-A-G. Jarrow products are a bit more expensive then others but that's because they work so well. This was one of the first products of Jarrow's I tried. After seeing or rather feeling results in a couple of days they won me over. I don't take N-A-G everyday. There are a lot of herbs and vitamins I don't take as "directed" I take as my body requires. I am blessed with a system that is very reactive to anything I take. I can tell exactly what it's doing and how. The good and the bad. And that is why I don't take N-A-G daily. I take it "as needed." When my hands, and knee start to act up is when I take N-A-G. If I'm feeling a bit backed up, I'll take it as well. I generally take one pill for about three days and I'm sorted till I overdo things. These "pills" are a big bigger than a say an Aleeve. So if you have problems swallowing you may have issues with the size.

I have ulcerative colitis and started using this product after reading some "shows promise" studies about how it can possibly help heal the gut mucosa in IBD. I was on steroids for a flare at the time I started using it, and had severe joint problems to the point of being barely able to walk. I was even going to physical therapy at the time. Soon after I started taking this product regularly (a week or two), my joint pain began to subside significantly (my knees and hips) in spite of the steroids I was still on, and I was able to join a gym and begin to regain my pre-flare strength. I also saw improvement in my bowel symptoms though that was not quite so dramatic as what I saw in my joints - the steroids mask a lot of course. Now that I am off the 'roids, I am hopeful that this in addition to other supplementation (VSL#3, a variety of vitamins and minerals) will help keep me that way. And oh by the way - my joints are operating at 99% now doing HIIT training at the gym (great gains) and ballroom dancing and horseback riding! I wasn't expecting to be able to do high-impact workouts again without leg braces, much less get back in the saddle without a step ladder!

Here is why Glucosamine Supplements may work for you (depending on what you eat). The theory is that we consume certain plants that are high in lectins. (For some plants lectins are natural defense in nature). After consumption, the lectins bind to polysaccharides found on human cells. Joint tissue in particular are high in polysaccharides that lectins will bind to. Glucosamine supplementation will bind to the lectins in the digestive system rather than allow the lectins to circulate, attach to joint tissue and create an inflammation response i.e. joint pain. After a week my joints feels about the same but my intestines feel better. Full disclosure I started this supplement with a few other intestinal support supplements.

I read that NAG can help with Anxiety, and as someone who suffers from it pretty darn badly I figured... well... what can it hurt to try something to help? Prescription meds don't work in ways that don't have side effects that are sometimes worse than my original condition. So something's got to work for me, right? My anxiety seems to be improved a little from just a couple of days taking this along with my morning Turmeric. Which is good, I can grocery shop without that "I'm going to DIE" feeling the second I walk in the store. This is nice. I just wish I could handle people better. There's not a pill for that though, therapy will eventually get me there. I hope. I also heard that this can help with joints, and as someone who suffers from RA I need all the help I can get there. So far, I've noticed some relief with the joints in my hands, feet and knees, and hopefully with enough time my back will feel a little better too. Overall I am pleased with what has happened in the few days I've been taking N-A-G by Jarrow, and am glad I head about it on a forum for anxiety sufferers. Yeah, I know, I took a gamble, but sometimes they pay off. Goodness knows my doctors have been trying and have had zero luck with their prescription pads!
