This gets 2 stars because of good packaging and each animal complete in its own sleeve. Now for the disappointing part. Each animal has felt pieces that attach to give detail but the sticky backing pulled off with the backing film so nothing stuck where it was supposed. Quite disappointing for a child that has diligently worked to sew all around the border. What I hoped would be a fun and teaching summer project for grandkids ended up not so fun!

The animal designs on this kit are very cute. There are more holes than I have seen in other sewing kits like this so in some ways it requires more meticulous sewing and feels more advanced. I wish I had paid more attention to the fact that these sew kits had adhesive parts though. I don't like that aspect as its not sewing, and makes the pieces more likely to fall apart. Also, the adhesive is difficult to remove from the paper backing.

This is a great beginning sewing kit. The directions are written clearly and are easy to follow. The materials are high quality. It was very easy for my six year old beginner sewer to use and follow. He loved the process and the finished products. Good value!

Great little guided activity to do with the kids. Nice way to teach them about how sewing works in a fun manner and with the training wheels on because of the pre-cut patterns and pre-made holes as a guide.

This kit comes with 12 cute animals and one mushroom to sew. Theres plenty of floss and stuffing. Each animal can be decorated with stick-on felt after sewing. Unfortunately, the stick-on substance sticks to the paper you need to peel off instead of the felt. At first I thought the kids just werent being careful. But no. The way the cutout perforations were made means that well over half the stickers will have no sticky on them once the paper is off. (I suppose this problem could result from it being summer, and I live somewhere ridiculously hot. Maybe the heat during transit and delivery made the sticky glue malfunction?) This can be solved with some fabric glue or a glue gun. But it is frustrating for the kids to need so much adult supervision. I did this craft with a 6-year-old and a 9-year-oldboth boys. The 6-year-old was the most passionate, and he also needed the most assistancerethreading the needle many times, recovering from only getting the needle through one side of the material, tangling the floss, etc. Still, hes very proud of his stuffie. This can be a fun craft but I would only undertake it with a high ratio of grown helpers to kiddos, and only if you have access to better scissors and some glue. This problem means I would not be comfortable giving this as a gift. I just cant give this more than three stars since the supplied scissors cant be used to cut the floss (too dull and flimsy) and since way more than half the stickers have faulty adhesive backing.
