Pretty darn silent switch with great tactility that is otherwise plagued by what sounds like either leaf tick or spring crunch, though its hard to pinpoint. Could also be something to do with the silicone dampeners (which, interestingly, are integrated into the top/bottom housings and not the stem). It gives them a little bit of a.wet? sound. Not a total deal breaker, and while I dont have some of the more popular silent tactile switches to compare them to, theyre leagues better than a couple others Ive tried from WS or Outemu. No scratch whatsoever. Still not as quiet as a silent linear such as my Durock Corals. Just cant get past that weird slight tick/crunch sound.

They offer a crisp tactility without much mushiness and have above average stability which is an important factor for me. They do well in that regard, with little play in the north-south or east-west direction. The three aspects that I find important for silenced tactile switches are just that, feel, stability, and most importantly, the degree of silencing. The problem is that the Outemu Silent Cream Yellow switches exist. For the same price as 70 Whale switches, I can get 230 Silent Cream Yellows. That's enough switches to kit out three 65% boards. The Whale switches are smoother with slightly better tactility, but fall short in the other two aspects, stability and silencing. The Outemu switches do a better job overall for silencing and sport good stability, and when factoring in the price issue, there's little reason to go with the Whales.
