Salty sweet savory with a moderate heat kick

This is best descried as tasting like a thick teriyaki sauce with heat. It's quite salty so a little goes a long way and the toothpaste size squeeze top makes portion control easy.

Quite nice

I love ssamjang, both as a condiment in Korean barbecue and as an ingredient. While it's not traditional in japchae, I like to use a bit of it to spice things up and add body in a way that gochujang can't on its own. This isn't the best ssamjang I've had, but it's pretty good! While it's not particularly hot, the flavor of the peppers is a little overbearing, drowning out the flavor of the soy. I like ssamjang to have a good balance of spicy, nutty, funky, and salty, and this isn't 100% there. Still, it's above average, and a great addition to any Korean dish you think might suit it.

Easy KBBQ Night, Spicy!

Super easy to use pouches for dipping sauce! They come sealed and the cap twists open easily. The savory and chili flavor is definitely spicy and I would say not for a spice wimp but not so spicy it's unenjoyable. Definitely reminiscent of gochujang with some sweetness to it. Perfect for grilling meat and using as a dip.

Nice and spicy; great on meat!

This spicy SSAMJANG is very yummy as it's a spicy sweet flavour with a salty aftertaste. It's not overpowering but at the same time, isn't mild. It's a good medium hot if I had to compare it to other spicy foods so it goes very well on pork belly and other cuts of meats! I like it on eggs as well for a quick umami snack. :) I think the resealable pouch is great because you only need a little to season your food with. This is quite potent so add only a little first. I will be reordering this for my meat dishes!

Salty, slightly spicy, but way more convenient.

Taste exactly like ssamjang is supposed to, but in a convenient squeeze packet instead of a box. Slightly spicy and nice and salty due to the soybeans made with. Not as salty as deonjang, and not as spicy as gochujang, sort of an in between, or it guess it's a mix of the two sauces come to thinK of it. Definitely a must have in your pantry for meats!
