I don't need to have multiple tools for grooming anymore now that I have this. It's perfect.

I have not used a Pet Grooming Brush Set before so I have nothing to compare it to, but the pieces were all in the packages and it functions as described. It seems sturdy and is pretty well balanced so it's easy to hold and use. I'm still experimenting with the best way to use it on two different dogs. One is happy as can be when she sees it and the other runs and hides. Unfortunately, the one that wants nothing to do with it is more in need of continuous grooming.

My dog sheds seasonally. He gets a thicker coat when its cold out. Even though he doesnt shed much this time of year, I thought Id get the L&W BROS. 3-in-1 Pet Grooming Brush set for the comb and the rake to get my dog acclimated to the new grooming set. So far so good. I think using the rake might be more beneficial come Fall and the deshedding tool in the Spring.

One of our cats has a beautiful "medium" hair coat but it tends to get matted and oily if not groomed as she has thyroid issues. She also has a very thick undercoat which makes grooming not fun for either of us. This brush has been a great time saver for us and she doesn't mind it as opposed to other mat remover and detangler tools. All three tools are easy to use. As with any grooming tool i will catch hair and needs to be cleaned often if the animal has a lot of shed. Our other cat likes it as well, when he sees me holding the tool he will come running and beg to be groomed!

I have various brushes for my pets that are similar to the deshedding tool (held inside the handle of this brush) and the undercoat comb. I honestly do not understand the difference between how to use the two fine-toothed combs. Maybe a professional groomer can explain the difference. Package description says the longer of the two allows you to reach deeper into the fur to remove loose undercoat hairs while the shorter is for removal of 'floating fur' but I see no reason the longer one can't also remove floating fur. The longer one has more rounded tips which it says is less likely to damage the skin but that brings up the question of why the short one has sharper tips? In any case, the longer comb is only about half a millimeter thick so even with rounded tips, it hurts to be dragged across your skin. I'm also not convinced this 3-in-1 tool is very sturdy. I think if you dropped it from any height, the plastic would crack. In any case, as I use in my 'headline,' my pup doesn't like this comb. To be honest, he doesn't like being brushed at all but he complained much more with this tool than the brush I usually use (which also does a better job of removing loose hair).
