The photo shows how the item arrives - mashed flat. The material is not soft and pliable like a leather, cloth or even a higher quality plastic might be. It clung to its deformed shape and resisted taking on its proper shape as I zipped it closed while empty. After I filled it with products it zipped more easily and was not as awkward to handle as it was empty. However, it still did not take shape properly and looks a bit lopsided. On the plus side, though, it does lay flat nicely when unzipped and loaded with products. As for capacity, in the large I was able to load some hair care (4 travel size items, hair bands), some body care (deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, contacts) and some face care (sunscreen, moisturizer, cotton pads). I didn't have room for cosmetics, makeup brushes, shampoo, skin care. In my opinion this bag just doesn't have enough capacity to warrant the space it requires in my suitcase, and it will never look like the quality product it appears to be in the photos. I'll be returning it.

Do not buy this. I havent even gotten to travel with it yet, and its already ripped and the zipper broke within a week. Inside and out it continues to keep tearing and i literally havent even left the house with it. I promise you that youre better off buying a bag from your local retailer, even walmart would sell you a higher quality product than this, because this was a waste of money and its completely garbage.

This is a super cute makeup bag and it has a lot of pockets which allows you to organize everything and keep your brushes separate. I also keep my travel size things in one of the pockets so theyre easier to find without needing to dig.
