I got this to connect to a 3.5 source and transmit audio to my earbuds. Although it paired and connected relatively fine, there is ground noise with hissing and popping. I don't know if I just received a bad unit or there is something else going on I'm not aware of. The noise seems to depend on interference in the USB power and electrical signals close to the device and its audio cables. I connected a simple ground isolating device in series with the audio 3.5 cable and that cleared up 90% of the noise. At least that makes it useable, but still not nearly as clear as my buds are when connected directly to my phone, or with any pair of headphones connected directly to the same 3.5 port. The only reason I bought this was to connect to in-flight entertainment systems on flights. I've yet to test it on that. Hopefully the ground isolator won't be needed, but I have my doubts. Also, with 100 others trying to connect bluetooth devices on a plane who knows which headphones this might auto-connect to when I try to pair it. We shall see. Yes there is some lag when watching live video, but I fully expected this since my earbuds don't support bluetooth 5.3 like the device does. Anyway, if indeed this device was designed without ground noise elimination in mind, and I didn't get a bad unit, I cannot recommend this due to the ground noise alone. Be warned!

I like this device, it worked great as a receiver. I was able to connect it to a pair of regular speakers and turned them into Bluetooth speakers easily. I paired my phone to the device and played music on the speakers without any issues. On the other hand, using it as a transmitter requires you to have compatible headphones, and not all bluetooth headphones are able to pair to it automatically. I flipped the side switch on the device to TX inserted the device into USB port of my laptop and set the output as (USB 2.0) device. The led will flash in red. I set my Sony WH-1000XM4 Bluetooth headphones in pairing mode and they never paired with the device. I later tried my Google Pixel Buds Pro and they took a minute or so but they paired in the end. The sound quality was a lot better in the receiver mode compared to the transmitter mode. I think they did their job, but if you are looking to use it as a transmitter, there might be a chance that your headphones won't connect.

I have an old Fidelio speaker that has great sound, but old Bluetooth capabilities (v. 2). As a result, I was unable to use it as a speaker more than about 6 feet from my laptop. Since I needed to place it a good 20 feet away, I feared I would have to buy another speaker. Gentechvvy to the rescue (say THAT five times real fast)! This little gadget is special, in that it can turn into a Bluetooth 5.3 audio receiver or transmitter at the flip of a switch. After flipping the switch to Rx and plugging it into a USB-A power block (not supplied), I plugged it into the Aux In port with the supplied 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cable. It paired with my laptop flawlessly and had no problems playing the audio from the Zoom session on my laptop. On the laptop, it showed up as just another Bluetooth speaker. Good price + no muss + no fuss + no bother = five stars.

Honestly, this wasn't what I was looking for. All I needed was a simple Bluetooth adapter for my desktop PC, and ran across this guy. It wasn't until I received it, did I see that it was a 2-way Bluetooth device. It can work with old school receivers that have wired speakers and no Bluetooth option. You can use this device to basically convert that system to a bluetooth device that your phone can pair to. Reminds me of the old school tapes that only had an 1/8" audio cord hanging out. I can see this being very useful.

It mostly refused to pair but the one time I got that to work it didn't transmit any audio. Also feels really cheaply made. I will be returning it.
