Lauri - Fun with Magnets...

Wonderful set for learning about magnets! Comes with several laminated cards that direct you in ways to use the set and about the science and history of magnets. Very easy to use set and is perfect for kids! Quite a few different activities for kids to do and also perfect for kids to explore on their own!

I purchased 3 or 4 of the small magnet sets on ZeeBooth to prepare for a magnet lesson I am writing. The Fun with Magnets will be my recommendation. I suggest purchasing a better bar magnet (Delta Education N/S 3" Painted bar magnets are perfect) and horseshoe but only because these have weak fields due to their heavy plastic coating, I think. The little activity cards are an added bonus. I had my 3rd grade grandson "teach" his kindergarten brother the experiments and it was enlightening for both boys. The pieces that are particular favorites are the giant ball magnets and the craft foam (included) to create a compass and "floating" and "sticking" disc tower.

Bought this for my 4 year olds birthday, since I've worked in preschools and kindergarten settings and know all classrooms usually have a magnet station.. I even remember playing with them myself at his age. He got a tablet, all kinds of expensive toys for his birthday.. but this is the thing he plays with most. Everyday. And we can find metal objects around the house to build on this collection. He even loves doing the little experiment cards it comes with. We underestimate the power of Curiosity in our children! When there are no rules and they can just experiment. I would highly reccomend as a gift for any young child

This was a great find. He has enjoyed it. We've had it over a month and it's all still working well. My 4 stars are simply because, yes the plastic and magnets are cheap, but it still works and is worth it for the first exposure to a magnet set. My kid is 6 and has really liked.

I bought this for my ( very mechanically inclined, wants-to know-how-it-works) 5yr old son and we think it's great. The little experiments that come with it are cute and educational and it prompted him to try some related but different experiments on his own. I saw some people comment that the magnets aren't strong but they are certainly strong enough for the projects that they were intended for and to get the expected results shown in the experiments. It also comes with a decent variety of magnets and pieces to keep him interested but Isn't overly complex. Our son enjoys this set and we would recommend it.
