The scissors are heavy-duty. I got this for my wife because she knows the tailor's work and she said it is perfect to cut thick clothes. It is well made and is sharp and sturdy. This is great to hold and soft on hand and fingers. It is durable and very easy to use.

I ordered the MANDALA Scissors for cutting all types of cloth material for sewing. These scissors were large and I have no complaints about the sharpness of the edges nor the smoothness of the cut material I have tested; cotton, polyester, satin and faux leather. The outside of the blades had a few imperfections but the inner edges were pristine; I even noticed that the joints of the scissors had been oiled to prevent friction. At first, I thought the oversized handles of the MANDALA shears would be difficult to manage in my small hands, but the size actually helped with the precision of my cuts and the long range of the blades were easier to guide in a straight line.

The handles on these scissors are angled just right for use in cutting cloth. Blades are sharp and the scissors heavy enough to be stable in use. They look great while working extremely well. The scissors are listed as ribbon cutting scissors, but re not huge ones like you might see in photos of politicians cutting the ribbon on a new project. They are just the size a tailor uses. At the price, I don't know how well they will hold up or how well they will retain a sharp edge, but they seem well made. The knurled knob to tighten the blades at the pivot point are a nice feature.

These are very pretty gold handle scissors. I needed a new pair because my old ones had gotten nicked probably buy a pin. They definitely are sharp!
