I've had this mess around my drawing table trying to figure out how to get power to all my devices (especially as everything now needs power!) Just putting a power strip over here doesn't help the mess as it is tugged any which way by all the things plugged into it and it's own cord (even if you hang it by it's mounting holes). This device is EXACTLY what I've always needed. It was super easy to screw into the underside of the shelf and then clamp down a power strip into. Loving this thing! Now if Apple would make their silly charge block smaller.

Have you ever tried to mount a power strip using the mounting screw holes on the power strip itself? That is an exercise in futility. Even if you get the screws into the wall perfectly, and you leave the perfect amount of space in between the screw head and the wall to slide the power strip on - getting the strip on is still impossible, and never tight enough (no way to tighten screws with power strip mounted on them) This device solves all of that. It is trivial to mount on the wall/desk/where ever. You can either mount from the top of the device or the back - your choice. Then putting the power strip in there and tightly holding it is a 5 second process. A bonus is - when you go to replace your power strip (as you should, they do wear out), swapping in a new one is a 1 minute swap - everything is ready to go. I hate seeing cords, being able to hide the power strip by mounting it under my desk in the front is awesome.

Okay, so I thought this was a mount and a power strip. This is just the mount-- which is actually better for me. This is a short, five inch mount that is adjustable in depth. There are nice spaces for screws to go through and mount to a wall. There is sufficient padding on the back, but I wouldn't depend on those pads to avoid scraping the desk or the wall. The screw adjusts for most single power strips and holds well. The screw adjust should not be where small children can reach because the screw will be tempting to grab a hold of. The box is well packaged and comes with some tools to get you started. Even for the fact that I was surprised on what I got, I cannot wait to use this item.

I didn't realize that this mounted to the desktop with screws - I thought it was a clamp type, but the clamp is actually to hold the power strip in place. This is not an option for me as I wanted to mount to a fairly thin table and the screws would come thru the top! It did fit my strip and would hold firmly in place. I did try double sided tape, but between the strip and the mount, it was too heavy to hold. Would probably work fine if what you are mounting too has a fairly thick top that you don't have to worry about puncturing.
