It's a metal pen, so yes this is a heavy pen. If you aren't up to writing with something heavy or just aren't used to it this pen might take a back seat to other lighter pens. I, however, really enjoy it. It comes with a refill and I do like that it's heavy and very durable.

This pen writes extremely smooth and lines made using it are very narrow and precise. The pen has a great weight to it, and it is obvious from looking at it that it is of a very high quality. The lid can easily be secured on the back of the pen and the lid does not fall off when I am writing. I love when someone asks me if they can borrow my pen and watch their surprise when they feel the extra weight of the pen and then see how wonderfully it writes. Well worth the money.

This pen has some great weight to it. It doesn't feel heavy, but it has some heft. The ink lays on smooth and the extra ink is a nice plus.

I'm not sure if it's the fine ballpoint or the ink or both, but this thing writes extremely fast and slickly. If you don't have total control of your hand you can slide around some corners and wipe out, as it were. I like it, but be prepared. I could also see this working for an artist that likes to do pen and ink with a fine point. The pen itself is finished well, has good heft, and is precisely machined. The part of the body that meets the cap is too sharp. If you happen to want to naturally grip near there it could be a bit uncomfortable. I grip just below it, so it's not much of issue, but it's a sharp edge that should be chamfered. Overall, decent pen and good value - especially with the extra refill.
