The sharpener on the pencil is pretty nice. But the sharpener it comes is perfect

The pencil itself feels great. It's nice to hold, easy to use, and pretty comfortable. I definitely was surprised by the quality when I considered the price. Definitely a 4/5 The biggest issue is just the included lead. It's not bad lead, I've used much worse. It gets the job done and I still use it regularly. However the lead will occasionally have some pretty thick particles that scratch against the surface you're drawing on pretty bad. It's almost like having a small bit of eggshell in your muffin, definitely not pleasant when it catches you off guard. They're easy to just rub off by hatching the paper a bit. These particles have never caused any damage to my sketchbook paper, it just feels awful to draw with when it happens. But it is semi rare (maybe 3-4 particles per lead). If I could rate the lead individually, I'd give it a 2/5. Usable but you're definitely going to want to look at better quality lead for a refill. Only small other gripe is one of the pencils lead sharpeners got clogged and there's no way to open it and remove that piece.

Pros: Good cost at $3.50 per mechanic pencil with 20 extra leads 120mm in length each for free. 2.0mm diameter leads seem strong compared to others i have used Three side (triangular?) holding area is great; comfortable Built in sharpener works GREAT (but extremely messy) Cons: Built in sharpener is extremely messy! Really, any sharpener for a pencil lead only is going to be messy though. Other Comments: Mostly plastic construction for lightweight pencil; some might like a heavier pencil; some might like the lightweight Unknown durability, as I havent had it long; initial quality seems perfect though. Does not have the protruding claw from the front type of grip on the pencil lead as some others I have used for years, and I am ok with that. This is more of the click the end, and it pushes more of the lead out type of mechanism; if you hold the button on the end, you can manually pull or push the lead in/out as desired as well, where the claw types Ive used the leads will just fall out due to gravity if you hold the end button down. Not complaining, just describing if you have a preference. Both seem to work just fine in my opinion. The only thing I can think of as a reason to NOT buy this is if you want a heavier pencil; there are some mechanical pencils out there with metal casings that will be heavier. Though I havent seen a heavier pencil with this good of a grip, IF a three-side (triangular) grip is important to you, which it is to me. Comfort is VERY important. I have used 0.5mm, 0.7mm, and 2.0mm pencils. I prefer 2.0mm. I push to hard usually to use 0.5mm and I dont recall how the 0.7mm one was honestly. I have NOT used a 1.3mm mechanical pencil so I cant comment/compare. The lead itself: the HB lead seems softer (messier) than I expected, but I am guessing thats just me. I didnt use the 2B leads yet so I cant comment. Bottom Line: I would buy again and recommend to friends/family if they had the need.

Ordered these friday out of curiosity. They arrived today 21 Oct 2017, Sunday. These pencils are really lite. They are 9 grams each, three grams short of the pencil, lead and sharpener kit offered. The significant factor about these pencils are they eject the lead with each press of the end cap while others you have to press the cap and physically adjust the lead to the position you want. One complaint regarding the pencils is their lightness and this is true, almost light as a feather but this can be rectified by wrapping a few rounds of soldering lead around the pencil to increase the weight. This would, of course, have to be placed above where you grasp the pencil. I like them, but I fear they may also be fragil and suceptable to breakage. If you don't like the light weight feel then these pencils are not for you but if you use wooden pencils they are a bit heavier as wooden pencils range from 3 to grams each. Can they be competitive? I am not sure. For me I will more than likely purchace again due to how the lead is ejected. That is a solid plus
