The glue dots serve to only temporarily keep the bowl from sliding. They come off after washing the bowl. The bowl itself is good but it shouldn't be advertised as "nonslip".

I bought this bowl at first for my dog for a water dish. After we had it a few months, I realized it was much better than the stainless food bowls I had, so bought another. The selling point, besides the good looks and the sturdiness, was...it has a few little silicone dots on the bottom. These serve almost as an anchor and keeps the bowl from sliding around, even when the roomba tries to push it. That was a major point for us, as the other bowl was continually shoved under a cart and we would have to dig it out. Worth the price.

Just the right size for her.

I have used this for my cat. He is so very picky about his water. The same way that I wouldn't want to drink water that was dirty, or had dust floating in it, or out of a cup/glass that looked nasty or dingy, my Draco doesn't want to either. I was having a hard time finding a good water bowl for him, which sounds a little silly right? It's just a water bowl.. Except its not, because I kept getting ones that would look like they were starting to rust at the bottoms when I would buy porcelain or glass crafted bowls, plastic is out of the question, because its too flimsy, deforms, looks not so stylish around the house, doesn't keep the water cold, or anything like that. So, this was "refreshing", pun very much intended there.

I liked the dish for outdoor neighborhood cats. Heavy enough it did not tip over easily.
