I've purchased a few sets of these plates over the years from a few different manufacturers and the quality was pretty much identical between them all. The construction was solid and they worked as they should, but there was always a little play when they were secured in the mount. I found that they would always rock back and forth about an 1/8" when held at extreme angles. It wasn't a big deal and it didn't come up often, but it was always a little annoying when my camera would shift unexpectedly in the mount. I assumed these Neewer plates would be more of the same, but I was pleasantly surprised. When I tested these plates out the fit was rock solid. They didn't shift at all, but they would still easily mount to the receiver without feeling too tight. The overall build quality also seems just as good or better than any of the other plates I have owned. For that reason I would consider these the best 3rd party quick-release plates that I've come across, and I can easily recommend them over similarly priced 3rd-party options.

These are a great affordable way to have a couple of backup plates for your Manfrotto tripod heads. I included pictures of these side by side with the OEM plate and dimensionally they match. When attached to my camera I could tell no difference in the attachment to the head. For reference this is a Manfrotto 322RC2 head, when attached, these locked in and were just as secure as the OEM. I always worried about forgetting or losing the plate and being stuck (I have probably 10 spare arca swiss plates laying around but none for this "special" head). Now I can keep a backup in my bag and in my car. These are a little lighter weight than the OEM version and it requires a 4mm hex wrench or a coin to install vs having the flip up finger tab. I don't think that either of those differences are a problem, it is still plenty strong and easy to install. I like the rubber grip on the Neewer version better than the OEM, it seems to grip the bottom of the camera body better than the OEM which still feels like there is a little play when tightened. The only thing that I would change is that in the slot where the attachment screw is, the threads to remove the screw are in the middle. This meaning that if you attach it to your camera with the screw in the middle of the slot, when you loosen it, the screw has a tendency to grab the treads and start to back out of the plate itself. I wish the threads were at the far end of the slot. This is a pretty trivial thing and probably won't cause any issues.

I enjoy the Manfrotto RC2 system because it's very easy to lock it in place with one hand. I find the push-in mechanism more easy to use than the 'sliding' mechanism on Arca Swiss. This set of Neewer quick release plates fit my existing Manfrotto RC2 quick release securely. It's also much more affordable than Manfrotto's official ones. Beware that this set only comes with the plates and not the adapter, so it will be useless without the RC2 head.

I mistakenly assumed dovetail quick release mounts were standardized among tripod heads. These don't fit my tripod. It is a shame because they look to be good quality. If I were able to use these, I'd prefer the recess in the middle of the screw head be for a phillips screwdriver instead of a hex socket.
