For the price, this is a very good set of mechanical pencils. I tend to like to 0.7mm size for work. I like bold lines. This comes with quantity 3 metal 0.7mm mechanical pencils and 8 tubes of 0.7 mm lead refills (6 tubes of HB and 2 tubes of 2B), 60pcs / tube (that's a lot of lead!), 3pcs 4B latex-free eraser, 18pcs replaceable cap erasers,1 pcs kneaded eraser. The difference between HB and 2B rating on the lead is that HB is considered a standard hardness and 2B is a softer lead. For example: The HB grade is considered about the middle of the scale for hardness and is equivalent to a #2 pencil using the U.S. numbering system. The 2B rating is essential two steps down, with a softer lead. There are even softer leads than that by the way. Yet each manufacturer of lead varies in their own rating of the lead. So that is something to be aware of. As far as the pencils themselves, they feel very good in the hand, and the tip is protected if you wish to completely retract it when pushing on the back of it and then pushing the tip into the nose of the pencil. The erasers are good and seem to work well, depending on the type of paper you write on. If you write on a soft paper, then the lead deforms the paper slightly and even though you erase the lead from the surface of the paper, there still will be an indentation in the paper itself. If you use a smoother and harder paper, the lead is more on the surface of the paper and it is difficult to tell there was anything there when erased. Also, depending on which lead type you use, the softer lead is easier to erase. I plan to load up one pencil with one lead type and one other with a different lead. I might have to experiment getting some even softer leads to see how that works too. The pencils have a back rotating indication of what type of lead you have installed in it. Though it doesn't lock the letter designation in place, because it can still rotate off the lead number you are using, you might not remember which one is loaded in which pencil if rotated. The other thing is, the pencils only hold two lead pieces. One in the tip and one in the back end, though I think it is ready to be fed directly in to the shaft too. I'm not sure if this is normally the case (only holding two lead pieces) with all higher quality mechanical pencils, but it struck me as odd. I've used other less expensive pencils that store 4 or more leads in the back end. But those rattled around in the chamber. These pencils don't really have a chamber to store more lead pieces in. The pencils are metal, and have a hex shape to them at the top, but have a rounded grip area, making them feel very comfortable in the hand and when gripping and writing with the fingers. Everything comes in a very nice case for storing everything. Overall, I am very pleased with them.

Perfect for back-to-school shopping and at a good price. These aren't like artist-grade or anything, just mechanical pencils that are built slightly better than the cheap plastic ones. It does come with a lot of lead and erasers, so it's very economical. Plus you don't have to worry about your kid losing their pencil, as you have an extra one or two more!

I enjoy all things stationery. The Nicpro Block Gear 0.7mm mechanical pencil set is a nice addition to my collection. I have used Nicpro mechanical pencils for years and this review focus on the Block Gear 0.7mm set. What a deal! Many years ago I use German and Japanese designs but paid more for one pen than I did for the whole Nicpro set--the value for money prompted me to test them out. The 0.7mm lead holds up better for my use than a 0.5mm and there is no need to sharpen these compared to the 2 mm Nicpro pencil design I frequently use. The pencils have an aluminum veneer that protects the mainly plastic internals. The Block Gear design has been in use for about a month and they held up fine. The tip holding the lead retracts when not in use, a pencil lead ID ring helps you recall what lead is being used, the finger hold has a good grip, and you can clip the pencil to your pocket. You get useful erasers: small one inside the pencil, a regular rectangular one for general use, and a kneaded eraser (soft and formable) for art work. All work well and you get lots of spare erasers. You also get a comparatively vast collection of spare leads HB and 2B. Why vast? They use to come in containers of 10 leads when I went to school the ones included with this set have 60 pieces per container--deal! I get excited when I get something useful for a great price. So what dont I like? The pencil only holds the lead inside the tip and one spare. This was not a problem for my use. The first set I received had one defective pencil, but ZeeBooth replaced the set and the new set worked fine. Overall I am very happy with this new addition used for daily writing and sketching.
