They say dont self-prescribe fiber without talking to your doctor first....... but I did that anyway. Im 28 and I was sure my nausea was from not eating enough fiber. I eat a lot of protein and a lot of greasy foods and not a lot of veggies and have been eating like that for a long time so im sure my guts health is not the best. This fiber supplement had the least side effects and didnt seem like it could cause any issues aside from the issues i was already trying to fix. Ive been taking 1.5 tsps of this every day in a bowl of instant oatmeal. It blends best in hot/thick things like yogurt otherwise the powder clumps. You cant really blend it in a drink. So i started an instant oatmeal regimen. I started with half a tsp and added another every week. I tried more than the 1.5 and it gave me some gastrointestinal distress (same issue i was trying to resolve) so 1.5 is perfect for me. I havent been nauseous hardly at all. I used to feel ill after eating like every night. No more. I dont feel like I have to keep pepto on hand as much anymore lol.

I cant comment too much on taste because I mix these with my protein shakes which can mask most of any taste. I will say however, I used to use Renew Life Skinny Gut Acacia Fiber per the Negative Calorie Diet book (which I highly highly recommend) and they recently stopped carrying the Renew Life Acacia fiber in most stores. This brand of Acacia fiber has been a wonderful substitute and a staple in my home. I am on my 3rd tub of it so far. I have noticed a visible reduction in the size of my tummy and bloating, I have noticed a thorough cleaning of my digestive system (which can help prevent cancer), as well as this is a perfect complement to the protein and keeps me full for much longer than the protein by itself. There is no noticeable taste whatsoever (which is perfect for me) and only a very minor grittiness (which is perfectly acceptable and I have also experienced from other brands of fiber because I mix it with thick cold not hot drinks). I'm sure this is beneficial to take, but the powder does not mix well at all and if you add it to something like cereal, yuck! I ordered a bottle over a year ago and I have barely used it because of the nasty taste (sort of like drinking cinnamon powder in water). Going to stick with fiber pills or dissolvable fiber powder from now on. UPDATE 1/2/14 Since I have developed gastroenteritis disorder last summer, I discovered there weren't many treatments for it, until I decided to try Acacia again. This powder has indeed helped my condition about 75%! Plus, I guess it doen't taste so bad if you mix it in plain water instead of flavored drinks. Now I drink a heaping teaspoon every day and my gut feels much better. It doesn't clump as I originally thought (must have used it in other liquid). Since this is organic, it's more effective than Metamucil is. Because of these facts, I changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars. I plan to use Acacia for a long time.
