This mouthwash tastes good, and it makes you feel fresh, but it is not like alcohol based mouthwash. The instructions recommend swishing a tablespoon (15ml) of the oil for 3-10 minutes. The included measuring cup and tongue scraper are helpful tools. After swishing, you spit the oil out, scrape your tongue, rinse with water, and then brush your teeth as usual. I admit, the idea of swishing oil in my mouth wasn't initially appealing. However, it wasn't unpleasant at all the mint oil provides a refreshing flavor. The whitening effects are unclear, but it seems like a gentler alternative to harsh chemicals like hydrogen peroxide that can damage tooth enamel. Long-term use might be needed to see a whitening difference. I'm happy I discovered oil pulling! Based on my research, it seems like a safe practice that may benefit oral health. While I can't scientifically confirm its effectiveness, it's worth exploring for those seeking a natural approach to oral care. Remember to do your own research to see if it's right for you.

Convenient and effective mouthwash

I like that this mint oil helps me freshen my breath, whiten my teeth and maintain healthy gums. It allows me to promote a healthier oral environment. I can only use it for about 2 minutes at a time but still it works very well for me. It is safe for my sensitive teeth and gums and it does not cause any pain or irritation. It is good that this mouthwash is made of natural ingredients.

Waste of time

I haven't noticed any difference since I've been using this. Just a waste of my time and money. Only star it gets is that it tastes good.

One of the perks of being on the Vine program is that I get to try out new things, including this Oil Pulling 8 Fl.Oz (2 Pack),Mint Oil Pulling Mouthwash with Tongue Scraper. This, from what I understand, is part of Ayurvedic practice/medicine. I don't particularly follow that regimen, though. This is listed as mouthwash, but is not the kind we all commonly know here is the US. It is oil based, and made of coconut and mint oils. This is used before you brush. I followed the instruction and measured 1 tablespoon (15 ml) in the measuring cup that came with it, swooshed this in my mouth for about 5 minutes (they recommend minimum 3 mins, up to 10 mins), then spit. Then used the tongue scraper that came with it to scrape the stuff off. I then rinsed with regular water and then did my normal brushing. I was apprehensive about oil coating my mouth (yuck?) but it was off putting at all. I'm not sure that it would whiten my teeth at this point in time, I would need to continue with this routine for at least a month or two. If it does indeed work, I supposed this would be less destructive than hydrogen peroxide where it may weaken the enamel. Overall, I'm glad I came across this. Based on what I've researched, there's really no adverse side effect, and seems to support the idea that this practice promotes overall oral health. I'm not qualified to scientifically evaluate the effectiveness of oil pulling, however, so please do your own research and choose the best option for you.

Pleasantly Surprised

I have a new love and it is this mouthwash. This rinse is absolutely amazing. There is no alcohol, so it is just so smooth and refreshing. I have chronic dry mouth due to medication I am on, and this really helps with that. I could not taste any peppermint or coconut but is has such smooth silky feel to it and leaves my mouth feeling so clean and fresh. This is most definitely a product that I will be re-buying. It is a bit on the pricey side, but you only need such a small amount that the small bottle lasts several weeks. (It comes with a cup for measuring out the amount you need to use.) It also comes with a tongue scraper!
