So, I really hate reviewing craft projects that I haven't actually completed yet, but in the interests of being fair to these sellers who are nice enough to send out free products for review, I don't want to take more time than I already have. So I will come back to update this with pictures of the finished diamond paintings once they're completed (why on earth do people take pictures of their materials straight out of the box?? Customers already know what's in the kit.) For now I'll just say that everything seems to be in order - there looks to be plenty of diamonds to complete the project, and plenty of materials (wax, pens, trays, etc.) The canvas is good quality with readable print for the symbols, and the glue strength is fine. This is the kind of kit that comes folded in the middle, so you might want to flatten it out with something heavy on top for a few days before attempting to work on it, as its tricky to stick the diamonds over the ridge in the middle. Looking forward to seeing the finished product, and I'll post pictures and update or revise the rating/review as needed at that time.

I ordered this Paint by Number set because I like the subject matter. I like old wooden boats and dilapidated old wooden docks - they have so much character. This set comes with 2 canvases, 2 sets of paints wrapped separately with a thumbnail of the painting they belong to, and 3 paint brushes each (packaged with the paint). In addition, there is a paper printing of each painting mimicking the drawing on the canvas and is pretty close to actual size. Those paper likenesses can come in pretty handy especially when the space to be filled in is so small you can't make out the number of the paint to be used. When in doubt take a magnifying glass to the paper drawing (or just wing it and choose your own color). Anyway, the kit does not come with frames, so those will have to be obtained before you can begin. The canvases, which was not rolled, but wrapped around the packages of paint, do have fold in them that will have to be smoothed out when stretching them over a frame, which is unfortunate. I should think it wouldn't take much to package these kits with rolled, not folded, canvases. The biggest problem with this kit is that it is not a kit that you can just open up and have everything there that you need to be able to start painting. You need to have a frame. Personally, I would rather pay a couple dollars more and have frames included. They wouldn't even have to be assembled. As for gifting, this set would be nice for anyone into art and painting and it is also a nice way to get someone interested in art, but I would go out of my way to find a set that includes the frame. The last thing I want is for the recipient to have to purchase something in order to enjoy the gift. It just doesn't seem like the right thing to do.
