I love using acrylic paint pens! I tried painting some years ago. My mom was an artist and it was normal for her to give me a brush and some paints, but unfortunately, my talent lay elsewhere. I felt awkward with a brush, and couldn't make the paint do what I wanted it to. Instead, I became a writer. So is it any wonder that I'm more comfortable with a paint pen than a paint brush? I love that acrylic paint is permanent. I painted a smooth rock with acrylic paint pens to look like a ladybug, and I was happy with the result. Now I have an original paper weight on my desk and it makes me smile. I can't wait to see what my grandkids do with the paint pens this summer! The pens need to be primed. When you get a pen, the tip is still white. You need to shake it, then press the tip gently a few times against scrap paper until the paint flows down the white tip and changes it to the color of the paint inside. Then you're ready to go. This box of black fine-tip paint pens is very reasonable. The package sells for just $11.19 at the time of this review - which is less than a dollar a piece for each pen. A great price!

This pen is not a ball pen. It has felt like tip that absorbs ink from the inner reservoir to write. At first you have to shake it a lot to get that ink moving to the tip. You can write on just about any surface. It says it is water based but it also says it is waterproof which I don't understand how. But after ink dries, water doesn't affect the writing. Feels good to write on anything!

These markers work great. They are about the same size as a normal pen and are good for finer work where you need a paint pen. I was able to just shake up and start writing. I used it to mark on an epoxy coated surface and it worked perfectly.

These are simple/easy to use and have directions printed on them for those who haven't used paint pens before. I find that using them longer than 20 seconds or so I need to shake it again to get the paint flowing. Fine if you're just writing something real quick, but if you're coloring something in (for me I was painting cables black with them) it starts being noticeable.

I used to use this type of pen when making stained glass. They were pricey. These pens are excellent. They work as well as the expensive ones for a fraction of the cost. I ordered the white pens. I tried them on dark paper and the writing was very apparent. The printing dried in less than 30 seconds and didnt erase or smear. When I wrote with it on etched metal, (I tried a pair of scissors) it filled-in the etched lines and after drying for about four minutes, it was dry and wouldnt come off. In my opinion these pens would be good for writing on paper, labeling tools, or highlighting etched lines on any material. They are probably for only temporary marks on slippery materials such as glass. They have to be pressed on the paper a few times to get the ink flowing, then shake it well (theres a little ball bearing inside to help mix the paint,) then its ready to use. Be certain that the lid is snapped on tightly when youre done) If the pen dries, it will never work again. Overall, a great value and Im going to their website to purchase more. I highly recommend these.
