Was getting tired of the limitations of the bazillion standard brushes that I have and read that a rounded brush set could help me do a better job getting the powdered color into my molds. Tried this and completely agree! Was much easier to "paint" the interior tiny portions (or larger portions) with this set. Brushes have dense, soft bristles, and I did have to cut a couple of loose strands that were sticking out prior to my first use. The handles are thicker at the brush end and get thinner as you move out, and it is comfortable to hold the handle wherever you need to in order to get into whatever crevice you're working with in the moment. This is a game changer when it comes to working with molds and colorants.

I've been picking up random figurines at the thrift store to paint, as a bit of a hobby, using a technique I saw people using online for gaming figurines like Warhammer - where you paint the item a solid black and then lightly brush a dry coat of white to the top, creating depth before you paint the colors over. My regular brushes weren't really doing a good job of keeping the dry-brush coat of white even and light, and these are so much better. They're softer than I thought they'd be - I was imagining the stiffer, natural bristled stencil brushes I've used in the past, but these are very fine synthetic. They work great and perfect for what I needed!

First off, they ferule is tight, which is my biggest issue with paint brushes when they are loose, but these had no wiggle at all. I did have a bristle or two come out when I was just running my finger over them, but after a good bit of moving them around no more came out. The bristles are a bit softer and longer than some other dry brushes I use, so if you are expecting very stiff bristles these will be too soft. The do look nice and with a bit of seeing how well they work, they worked roughly about how I would expect.

I use these mostly for miniature painting, and specifically for dry brushing. They work well for dry brushing, and are easy to clean. They're a good value for the price, and they're holding up well so far!

I love these brushes. Even though I have not used them (they just arrived), I know instinctively by feel they will be the complimentary sizes I wanted to add to some larger soft, but rounded and firm, shorter haired brushes for dry mediums ... in particular, soft pastels used for creating face-ups on resin bjd's. All 3 sizes are smaller than what I already have, but their graduated bristle widths will give them all unique purpose and application versatility. Can't wait to try them out! They seem to be great quality without a brand name that sometimes adds cost without additonal merit.
