I recently got into dip pens, and I was expecting this one to be more of a decoration than a legit writing tool (like another similar one I have on my desk), but it's actually really great to write with! It's a bit heavy, but weighted toward the bottom, which makes it still comfortable to write with, though maybe not for long stretches. It has four nibs and the one that came installed in the pen is my favorite. It looks like a fountain pen nib and writes so smoothly! I prepped all the nibs with rubbing alcohol before use, though I'm not sure if they needed it or not. I had trouble getting the original nib out of the pen at first, but it came out while I was gripping it with the alcohol swab, and then I didn't have any problems switching them in and out. Also, all four nibs fit in my Tachikawa holder, too, and my Zebra G nib fit in this one, so you can use this with other standard nibs. The ink that came with this kind of sucks and just makes a mess when you try to write with it, so I switched to the kind I usually use (Rohrer and Klingner Sketchink) and that worked much better. The pen is gorgeous, and I love that it comes with a matching stand for it to sit in when not in use. It also came with a beautiful thank you card (that I think you're supposed to give to somebody else, like if you're giving this pen to them as a thank you?) and an envelope. This is a great set that makes a beautiful decoration and is fun to write with!

This was a mother's day gift and is a gorgeous piece. Functional and decorative.

I got this more as a display piece than anything. I have only ever attempted to write with a fountain pen once in my life and it was not a success. I have gotten me something to use to practice with and once I feel sure about my ability, then yes, I absolutely will be using this pen. I'm not going to come on here and lie about how smoothly and beautifully it writes. Let's be honest, a lot of people, like me, are just going to fall in love with the look of this pen and it will never be used to write with. For those people, I say this pen looks GORGEOUS! I would have no hesitation about adding the others to this one if I were to collect them. The quality and craftsmanship of this pen is great. The feathers are beautiful, the metal work on the pen itself is fantastic.

The design and look of this set are very steampunk. It is a must-have desk accessory and extremely giftable. It is functional too, but better for display. The peacock feathers are real. I love it, and I highly recommend it!

This thing is gorgeous. I honestly don't know how high-quality the pen is for writing/calligraphy, so I can't really review it from that standpoint, but I can attest that, even if it's just glorified decor on a desk, it's a really nice item, especially as a gift.
