I bought this to trim my 3 dogs nails. Two of them are med to large breeds. It works but I would recommend this just for smaller( less than 30lbs) dogs. It is comfortable to use and easy butjust seems more appropriate for for my smaller dog.

I really like the way these clippers function. They have a control knob that sets the guard to one of three different levels in order to control the depth of cut you make on the nail. With this control feature I don't have to worry about cutting a nail too deep while I am working with my reluctant pups. It has always been so nerve-racking to cut nails because they always seem to pull their foot away just as I am trying to make the cut. Now I can relax more, which helps them to relax as well. With these I have been making small cuts and then doing more if that is not enough. They work well and seem nice and sharp. Both me and the pups like these much better than other nail clippers.

I used these clippers the same day I received them and I have to say, they are amazing! I was using regular cat nail clippers (first pic), and my god, I hate how my fingers would always get stuck and I would have to readjust them. That is not a problem with these! They have a lock feature so you can lock them closed when you are not using them (second pic). They also have a clear guard that is adjustable to 3 sizes so you don't overclip your pets nails (third pic). The pic included shows the difference between the three levels. Overall, I think these are a great buy whether you have a cat or dog. And I can't believe how long I waited to get this type of pet nail clipper (I watch A LOT of pet grooming videos lol)

This has a guard on it that stops the nail from just going through the clippers if the dog kicks. It's a clear guard so I can still see right through it. I am able to adjust the length to be cut with the guard. The handles are a nice rubber which makes me feel comfortable that it won't slip out of my hand. These clippers are just perfect for my small hand size. My only itty-bitty issue is that it seems as though it's a hard clip. The dog wasn't too happy about that. Also, I wasn't able to switch hands. I have to clip my dog's nails all by myself and I don't have anyone to help me hold the dog. Being able to switch hands would be very helpful.

I was blown away by these nail clippers. Very high quality and a good value, and takes the fear out of clipping dogs nails yourself. The spring mechanism is great and has a good return when handles are squeezed. The clippers are a good size and weight in the hand, and when expanded, the distance between the handles is not too wide, so I think it would be comfortable for most people, including those with smaller hands. The clippers have an etched ruler on one side and a transparent safety guide on the back to ensure you don't cut too much. You can adjust the height of the guide by pressing the button on the dial while turning it to the setting (1, 2, or 3) that you want. Finally, the lock is a smooth lever style that is elegant, easy to operate, and large enough to see and move. No more struggling with the the tiny slider locks! My new favorite dog grooming tool for sure.
