I saw this said "lithium ion battery"....so I thought it meant those little flat coin size batteries. I did not realize it meant a special kindof rechargeable battery. So the 18650 is larger and wider than AA batteries, so you can either plug this in via USB...or use the rechargeable battery. (you can buy a cheap 18650 size charger for about 5 bucks.) The issue is...I got this for use in emergencies. If there is no power....I don't want to be recharging a battery...which takes...power. Same with USB. I preferred ones that uses typical AA and AAA batteries. I do happen to have a very small solar panel, but I am not sure how to connect that to a battery recharger. So while its useful that I might have a radio that can possibly be recharged via solar panel (And to use sometimes that way via USB plug) ...if there is an emergency when there isn't much sunshine....you will have 0 recourse. This will suit a lot of people well though, as its a nice unit. It has a very useful flashlight with 2 lighting settings, as well as a headphone port, and manual tuning. The sound quality is decent for a small radio, although of course nothing amazing either at this price point. Its a very good item in all regards besides my battery issue. and some may well prefer the rechargeable battery too. Overall: For me its not quite what I expected, but I still like it, and will probably be a decent choice for a lot of people.

This is an excellent little radio and has great reach with the antenna. The AM dial comes in clearly, and I am glad to have it on hand for weather or emergencies. We haven't had our power go out in quite a while, but just in case, I make sure this is charged and ready. The battery though is not the size of a standard battery, so be sure you find a replacement immediately to have on hand. The flashlight works very well and has two levels.

The formfactor of this radio is great for the price. I like that it's rechargeable long-lasting battery, has an earphone jack, and works just like an old radio should. The tuning wheel has a short run, so you have to be a little patient when tuning in the AM stations. The station list backlight isn't that great, it's super dim and should be at least twice as bright as it is. It is difficult to read which the station you're on in the dark. The flashlight is convenient, but more of a convenience than something you'd carry around with you all of the time. Overall, I think it's pretty good for the price.

A transistor radio in 2024? Really? Yup, and It certainly brought me back to my high school days in the '60s when I would hide my transistor radio in my shirt pocket and snake the earphone cord up under my shirt and put the bud in my ear. Why? So I could listen to the baseball World Series games when I was in school. Back then, World Series games were always played in the afternoon. To be honest, the little transistor radio I snuck into school was nowhere near as good as the radio I just got from ZeeBooth. Manufactured in China by a company named LIJIANI, this gem of a transistor radio has all the bells and whistles. For starters, it has both the AM band and the FM band. FM radio was around in the late 1940s but didn't become mainstream until the 1960s. My little transistor radio, though didn't have the FM band. The LIJIANI radio is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, unheard of in the 1960s, and also has a dual brightness LED flashlight. The channel guide is backlit in orange to make it easy to find stations when playing the radio when it's dark. Nice bells and whistles, but when it comes to performance this radio has great reception on both bands and surprisingly good sound as well. There's also a 15" telescoping antenna to boost reception. These days, many of the things a transistor radio can do also can be done by your cell phone. But for me, there's a certain nostalgia associated with the little radios that make me happy to own one again.

I ordered this radio because it has analog (dial) tuning, which is faster and easier to tune AM & FM stations. Most radios now incorporate quirky digital tuning methods with poorly implemented interfaces. This radio features a simple tuner, it is much quicker to find stations with this 'legacy' dial tuning method. It has two dials: one serves as the volume and On/Off switch, and the other is the tuner. There is a switch for AM/FM. The flashlight is controlled by a separate switch with On/Low/High settings. It also features a rechargeable battery which can be replaced if needed, and is recharged via USB cable which is included. Overall, the speaker sounds great considering the size of the radio. It has good volume and produces a nice full sound on FM stations, and is decent on AM. The tuning display is back-lit while the radio is on. It also has an earphone jack. With the built-in antenna extended, FM reception is quite remarkable with good sensitivity, and rejection. AM reception is also good, with fair rejection of adjacent stations, but sensitive to local EM noise sources... which is fairly common with AM. Now, although it has analog tuning, it will take a bit of finesse to zero in on a station. This is particularly true on the AM band, because at night this radio picks up a lot of stations! It's a bit less touchy on the FM band, but still fairly sensitive. There is a bit of drift because this radio does -not- have phase-locked loop. Frankly, I'd rather see the manufacturer nix the flashlight and implement fine tuning, or more tuner travel for finer control. There is no tone control, but the audio EQ seems to be set 'just right' for both bands. If you're looking for a simple portable radio with a decent tuner and full sound, this is a good choice.
