This was slightly larger than I thought it may be. I've seen desk fans before but they seem so small I wonder if they even make a difference. This one had five speeds so you should be able to find one that works for you. I typically leave it a 2 or 3 and that comfortable without it being too loud. My son thinks it's quite at 5 but to me it's not really loud, but noticeable. If I leave it at 2 or 3, it's low enough to be quite while still generating a breeze to help keep me cool. I have it about two feet from me and angles to blow more towards my chest than my head since it's too the side and I don't like it directed towards my ear. It has lights, not sure why. I don't use them but you can turn them on and press again to make them brighter while a third press of the button will turn them back off. The fan button will cycle through the speeds 1 through 5 and then the sixth press will turn it off. The battery will drain somewhat quickly if you have it on a higher speed. I usually use the included cord to plug it into my laptop. The cord is short so whatever you plug it into has to be close to where you want to set your fan.

No where in the description of this mini-fan that says auto-shut off. On a fully charge fan, I'm lucky to get 90-seconds of continuous use. when charge is low, it shuts off automatically every 15-seconds. VERY ANNOYING. UPDATE: On July 11th, I reviewed this product and I gave it 1-star. Today, July 16th, I want to revise my review and give it 5-Star. Reason: The customer service reached out to me and replaced the defective fan. This is truly unexpected. The new fan is working great...no problem to report. But, the customer service and the company/seller is beyond amazing. I didn't know good customer service still exist. Thank You.
