I didn't expect too much from this record cleaner. Just looking at it, it seems like a cheap solution to a problem that's been solved already. But after using it, I was very pleasantly surprised at how well it works. It's simple enough... just spray some cleaning solution on the bristles (which are very soft, btw), and run the brush over the record. To clean the bristles, just rotate the head back into the handle, which has a barrier that the bristles will bump against. It comes clean pretty easily, and you'll see the dust accumulated from the record come off the bristles. Anyway, I tested this with a Time-Life album that I got from the used bookstore. Attached is a picture of the bristles after using it. I was impressed.

I got this for my son's new record player. His records were dusty, and the cheaper record player would skip with even a little dust. He figured out how to use it with no help, and it made a big difference on the sound of the record, and it stopped skipping. Unique design of the brush. It works really well in keeping the brush clean.

I still have my old Parastat from the 70s, and it still mostly works fine, but is a bit dirty looking. This is a decent modern equivalent -the brushes are softer, but fine enough to do a good job, and hold just the right amount of moisture (I presume distilled water) to reduce static. I only have a few LPs today, either new, signed, direct to disk LPs, or a few very old scratched up ones - I've tried this with both, and all I can say is that it helps reduce static noise, with both my old SME tone arm as well as a new (but very cheap) one. Not expensive, does the basic job well, comes in the nice moled 'case' to store it in, no 'sales pitch' to buy someones 'magic LP fluid' - what's not to like? Recommended, unless you are a vinyl nut....and even then can't hurt.

Grabbed this little Vinyl cleaning kit for my growing collection and I've been pleased with it so far. The bristles on the brush are very soft, so I'm confident that it's doing no harm to any of my records. The cleaning solution also seems to do it's job, but honestly I find myself not using it too often between deep cleanings. The brush is great for quick daily cleanings right before playing your records. I also really like the self-clean feature on the brush that allows you to flick off any accumulated dirt or debris.

This is a record cleaning brush, that also includes a tiny spray bottle with cleaning fluid, and a small microfiber cloth to wipe up the excess spray, too. The brush bristles are carbon fiber; very thin and pliable. The bristles are SO pliable, in fact, that during the cleaning process, it seems like nothing is happening, except to remove some surface dust. If you have a really old, dirty record with fingerprints or worse! you may not feel as though it is getting clean very quickly when using this product. Dont try and push down harder, though, because the brush flips out during use; and, when open, does NOT lock into place. Press too hard and the brush might collapse back into the case, and you may be scratching your precious record. I would suggest the initial use of a LARGE microfiber cloth with the cleaning spray, to get rid of most of the really bad crud on your disc. Then, use this brush as a gentle FINAL STEP to safely get into the grooves of your record and remove the last bits of remaining dirt. This is a good product for regular maintenance of a treasured vinyl disc; but, perhaps not so much for spiffying up a moldy record from the dollar bin of a second-hand discount shop. There are other record cleaning products available that are much better suited for that purpose.
