I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PUZZLE PUNCHER! (I JUST DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE DESCRIPTION, BUT I MIGHT BE ALONE ON THAT. HERE ARE SOME INSTRUCTIONS IN CASE ANYONE ELSE NEEDS THEM ;) 1) The paper loads from the top, not the bottom like my other punch. 2) Put the paper (they have a list of other materials you can use as well) in the punch, lined up straight across the bottom. When you feel the internal "stopper", Punch! 3) *Your piece will be 1 inch, which makes it look much more like a real puzzle than other punches I've tried. *Because it's 1 inch, your paper must be a multiple of 1 inch. 4) Put the paper in again, it will be a bit awkward bc you now have holes in the paper but you get used to it. When you feel the paper is against the "stopper", punch! 5) You now have 2 completely different pieces! 6) Just work your way across. Then start row 2 back at the beginning & continue for as large as you'd like! This would make adorable little family photo puzzles to send or even make one for kids out of their favorite character!

I already had a puzzle maker it was plastic it was kind of weak and you couldn't see if you had your puzzle piece lined up right. This one is amazing. If you look underneath as in hold it upside down and squeeze it you can line up your puzzle piece perfectly every time and see that you have done it which if you don't want to wreck your whole puzzle by screwing up one piece it's a good thing to be able to do. I got an extra one for my sister we are going to have fun. You can draw your own picture. You can take a photograph. It says to use foam sheets but I bet you could use thin cardboard I'm going to try it on cardstock in a minute. You can't go wrong with this.

Ok, so I have to admit I was really puzzled by this at first (see what I did there?) (pun definitely intended) as I could not figure out how a seemingly one shaped puzzle piece maker could make an entire puzzle - sides pieces, corners, and middle pieces...but it does! I'm still baffled but all I can tell you is, it works! All of the pieces will fit together, so even though the same fit makes it seem easy, it's actually somewhat of a challenge because you have to rely solely on color and pattern. Aside from it working, it seems to be a solid item made with better quality materials from what I can tell. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that mine got stuck (wouldn't fully open or close) and I really had to force it closed to get it to work - it was out of the blue - but it seemed to click back into place and now works fine again. However, it made stress marks in the handle that show that the plastic in that area (two lines) weakened. It doesn't at all feel like it will break, but those marks definitely are a reminder that it could break over time if it happens again. I can honestly say I'm not sure if it was my fault, or something that just happened. I do think it was a freak thing though, and it operated fine afterwards. I am not sure it could handle balsa wood, though it claims it can. Regardless, it's a neat little tool that should last a long time (IF it doesn't get stuck like mine did). Over all, I would still recommend it - it's so much fun if you're a puzzle person!

After you release the lock by sliding a latch on the bottom, you can stick a piece of paper or cardboard in the front, then press down on the lever to cut out a puzzle piece. You can then repeat the process in a row, then move to the next row, and so on. So long as you line it up carefully, you'll make a set of puzzle pieces. I recommend gluing the photo to a thin piece of cardboard using spray adhesive before cutting out the puzzle pieces. You can use this to create your own personalized jigsaw puzzles. The cutting blades are very precise.

Solid punch, easy to use. Sturdy construction - cleanly punch through the materials Ive tried: thin plastic 1mm, thin cardboard 1mm, 110lb (300gsm) and 65lb (175gsm) cardstock, even glitter and shimmer cardstocks (Cricut brand). Does take some force, as most punches would - so not good for people with carpal tunnel or weak hands. Each puzzle piece punch out is 1 by 1 with 0.25 nubs sticking out from 2 sides (total length and width 1.25 by 1.25; see photo.) It was pretty quick to use, with built-on alignment on 2 sides - tools less than 1 minute to create a puzzle from a 4x4 photo! I do recommend mouthing the photo or image on a thicker substrate, like cardboard, so the pieces would click together when the recipient assembles the final product. The top lever locks down for flat storage, though the punch is fairly large already measuring 5 long, 2.65 wide and 1.75 thick.
