The media could not be loaded. I got these for my 3 and 1/2-year-old, as he's recently gotten very into puzzles. He loves those M&D jigsaw puzzles that have 4 puzzles in a wooden box. I thought these would be similar, and if I have to see that M&D cement mixer puzzle one more time, I might lose it. These puzzles are a very inexpensive price point so I thought I would give it a try. They are one step up from cardboard jigsaw puzzles. They are certainly not chunky wooden puzzles that young toddlers use typically. One thing to note, the pieces are interchangeable between the puzzles. That means, if you mix all the pieces together,it will be a little difficult to separate them out. In my photo, I swapped out a top right piece from two puzzles, and they fit perfectly. That means, I will only be introducing one puzzle at a time! I also like that you can remove the picture from the wooden backing. It makes gives these puzzles an extra added dimension of difficulty.

The great thing about these puzzles is that if you don't like particular aspects about them, you can modify them. For example, they come with the cute pictures of what each puzzle should look like. But, in my situation, I'm going to laminate each one! The puzzle pieces don't come apart as easily as beginner level pieces often do, so teaching how to push apart two stuck pieces is important. Some of the pieces are cut similarly so you have to show kids how to match the picture, not just stick the pieces together if they fit. I also like the idea of using a pen or marker to outline the empty puzzle so that little kids know which ways the puzzle pieces go in. I feel like this is a very fun set of 4 puzzles, each with 24 pieces. I don't expect them to be long lasting, but they will be great for teaching kids how to put a slightly harder level of puzzle together. It fits nicely in the wooden frame and we didn't have trouble snapping the pieces together. Some of the wood is imperfect because it's curving (we live in a high-humidity environment) and it's bubbled in at least one area. But, we still have had no problems putting the puzzles together and carefully taking them back apart. The kids noted the fun faces that the vehicles all have so that they have personalities like the cars from the movie Cars but they're not the same characters.

My nephew is 2 1/2 and is in his puzzle phase. I ordered several of these to keep him busy after school while hes waiting for his mom to get off work. These were a total hit. There are enough of them in the package that he has a variety to work with and they are easy for his hands to grab. Hes very smart so he gets them done pretty quickly, but they are challenging enough to keep him entertained because of the variety. Construction is good and there are no pieces that risk a choking hazard. The edges are smooth, so there are no splinters and the colors are vibrant. Highly recommend

The DQRRZ puzzle set comes with four puzzles (aircraft, public service, construction, marine). The frame on each one measures approximately 8 3/4" x 5 3/4" with a puzzle section that is 7 3/4" x 4 3/4". They are made of thin plywood with a printed, glossed picture glued on. The individual puzzle pieces vary in size depending on which piece between 1 1/4" to 2 1/4" (counting the interlocking puzzle nub). When the pieces are removed there is the matching picture to help kids visualize the missing/next piece. I got this set for my 4 year old grandson. I think he will like the colorful, bright picture and putting the puzzles together. I like that they are wood based (a bit of nostalgia....), that the pieces are large (no choking hazzard) and the subject matter of each, things I think he will enjoy. I think the price for four puzzles is very reasonable.

One of the puzzles wasnt cut through all the way. If I try to separate it, the cheap popsicle stick-like wood will break apart. My kid will get splinters.
