I'd actually like to rate this as 3.5. I heavily relied on the original clam clip device made by skillcraft/lighthouse for the blind. I haven't looked in a GSA catalog, but these seem to have been out of favor and occasionally come across unused stock. A search on ZeeBooth found this company. The clips in all sizes are equally as durable, but the dispensers are far, far inferior. The original had a pusher mechanism to push against all loaded clips which produced a solid binding of anything that "fit" into the mouth/slot of the dispenser. I've come to know the limitations and how to best work around them (i.e., used the dispenser in a vertical fashion to let gravity assist with proper alignment. Every now and then I'll order one of these in various sizes with more clips as an add on. So, a 3 does this produced from Rapesco (they highlight it as RAPesco, but to me a poor name choice too similar to the base word for a horrendous crime) a disservice. I'll continue to use these when needed. I have become a fan of their 40 clip size...the dispenser is just as bad, but have dozens of the skill craft ones and while clip width is smaller, it works. Not only does this allow a cheap binding solution for 95% or my needs, but rapesco makes that clip size in mutiple colors and more playful ones like hearts, smiley faces, and emoticons which my wife uses as motivational responses to her middle school students. Sort of like getting colored stars when I was in grade school. Not perftect, could be better, but an amazing price even with these limitations ($10-12 for the old skill craft version). The hardest part I had in my office years ago was getting people to recycle the clips. Used over and over, a proper supply would easily last a life time. I like them as I never damage paper with heavy duty staplers and can remove, copy, replace. I use the various colors to denote various actions, much like a color code system of files in a doctor's office. For instance yellow may mean in progress, red means a decision, and green represents a complete file that is approved, scanned, and now going to archive files. Counting stainless steel silver, think they make about 10 colors. Not all are on the US ZeeBooth site, but I found them on the UK site. My login in and password worked (prime didn't work for books, movies, or shipping which makes sense) and I found multiple options. The basic options were cheaper on the US site. Shipping while more was reasonable, so I ordered $60-70 worth of items not on US site and shipping was about $12 dollars. The conversion rate is known prior to committing. The time for delivery was around 10 February due to product availability and time for ocean crossing, truck transit, and customs in UK and US. New message today expects delivery sooner, this week. So, it opened another trusted supply source. Love the "supaclips", a little less so for the dispensers.
