I am a huge fan of escape rooms, but between the cost, limited availability, and needing to have a willing group of friends to participate in them each time, I don't get to experience them as often as I'd like. I've been intrigued by the at home versions of escape rooms as they appeal to puzzle-loving mind. I think this kind of game is still lots of fun with a group. For a puzzle like this, while you could play with a large group, I could see how it might not be as fun when you have too many people trying to share the same gamepieces, interject ideas, etc. But of course it's not like a real escape room where you won't get to finish it if you don't do so within the allotted time. That part is really nice, because even if it's really challenging to someone, they can take all the time they need to finish it. What I especially love is that one person can play it alone. I ordered this for something fun for my husband and I to do together, but the reality is that I'll likely end up playing it on my own, as I'm not sure he'll be into it. But who cares - it only requires one person and there would be a certain thrill in figuring it all out on my own! The toughest thing for me is justifying spending $15 on this type of game knowing I can only play it once (well, let's be honest - my memory is bad enough that I could probably play it again a year from now and not remember how to solve it). But anyway, back to my point. It's not a typical board game that you can play repeatedly. However, the value lies in the fact that it CAN be replayed, and you can pass it on to someone else to play. It's not as if by using and playing it once, you'll have destroyed the materials and have to just toss it. I personally think the fact that they made it replayable is a HUGE selling point. They also did a good job of coming up with a challenge that's not too easy, but also easy enough that anyone ages 12+ can play it. I think brainteasers are so good for the mind and I love having an option like this to challenge my mind!

This escape room game is easy enough for a middle schooler, and fun enough for an adult! My husband and I have done numerous puzzle and mystery type games, but this was my kids first introduction, and a really great one for them to start with as the puzzles were a lot easier than the ones weve typically done as our adult date nights. I actually played the game on my own first, and solved the whole thing really quickly without needing hints. My kids played later and did need a little assistance to think outside the box on some of them, and I was able to facilitate that and encourage them along. The storyline is that William Shakespeare is in prison on the possession of stolen papers of another mans play, and clues must be found to sort out the truth. The game travels from different locations around London, while unraveling the narrative, and presenting a puzzle to solve before moving onward. The exercises range from math and number puzzles, to word and decoding activities, and other creative pattern or piecing together type mysteries. Nothing is destroyed, but it is helpful to have scratch paper for a couple of them. We really enjoyed this!

This is a fun room escape game. It comes with 6 acts, a paper decoder (not the best quality), hints sheet, & scoring sheet. The difficulty measure mentioned it's in between easy & tricky, & that was true. It is challenging, not too easy, bit without being frustrating. It is fun to play, & suitable for 12+ ages.

I played it with a group of friends, and we all had an absolute blast unraveling the mysteries to save Shakespeare.

This is a great escape room game. It is fun and engaging and the materials are well made. The best part is that it is replayable. We had a blast playing it with a mixture of teens and adults at a family get together, and now my sister plans on using it as a fun activity during her English classes.
