Very cute turtle design (my sons love turtles) with gameplay nearly the same as Pass the Pigs. Toss the turtles into the garden, where the scenes have different point values, which add to the gamble of how the turtles with land and how many points you'll get. Fun and simple for all age levels and a little basic math skills thrown in for adding up scores. Great design. Clear and illustrated instructions. We had a little trouble deciding which way our turtles had landed and which one they actually were on the point chart, but we'll probably catch on better after a few games. The scenes for the garden are cute and add a little spice to the simple game. Love Chronicle Books and trust them to be quality book publishers. . . fun to see a game they've been involved in.

No game could have simpler rules. Just toss your turtle and see what's up. Great for travel, very compact (turtles are quite small). The smallest children can play, and adults enjoyed it as well. Recommended.

Simple little game that is more fun than anticipated! The rules are fairly simple and only really involve you rolling the turtles around a playfield made of cards to score points. You get several attempts to do so and how and where the turtle lands determine the points. However, it is very important to not land on your shell at the end of your turn since it will cost you all of your points. The act of rolling the turtles around is more nuanced than I thought, and everyone we played with definitely had a blast. The game comes with several turtles and even score keeping cards. Definitely worth trying for any group who likes simple and quick games.

Super simple game. Easy enough for kids even younger than age 8. Comes with easy to understand instructions. Game time is pretty quick and the game is small, so it can be played just about anywhere. The game concept is kind of ridiculouswhich is part of what makes it fun! My only critiques would be that the little tabs may not hold up to lots of times of interlocking without getting bent or torn and the scorecard doesnt seem very specific to the game (not exactly sure what to write where). A blank piece of paper seems like it would work better.

I got this game as something I can take along to keep my son entertained at doctors appointments or at restaurants. It's a very simple but cute game. The tortoises are thrown like dice, and depending how they land earns you points. The tortoises are well made and very travel sized. Perfect for my purposes. The cards are an interesting idea, but overall I don't think they add much to the game. They are printed nicely, but they don't fit together very well. They are on the thin side, and the cardstock type material won't hold up to moisture. It's also not really clear how the bonuses are supposed to work. Some cards have 2 bonuses, so do you get both of them or just the one the tortoises point towards? We will probably skip the cards, but we will definitely use the tortoises and the score cards.
