It took me three times, but I figured out what the instructions meant and can make envelopes with this now :) The instructions on the envelope folder are easier to understand than the ones on the product page. Yesterday I used the ones on the product page and got confused. So I decide to make the smallest card size. I put my paper on the side with all the parallel indented lines. I used the paper knife to cut along the lines so I got a 5 x 5 paper. I aligned the bottom of the paper to the SCALE MARK (the ruler on the side with the instructions printed in black.). I used the paper knife to score the paper along the diagonal line between the ruler and the instructions printed in black. I rotated the paper 90 degrees clockwise, and lined up the line I just scored with the SCORE GUIDE line at the top left. I repeated that until I had four lines scored. So it wasnt that hard, but you need a pretty big piece of paper to get a decent sized envelope. With my 5 x 5 paper I got an envelope for a 2 x 3-1/2 card. So with regular printer paper, the biggest card you can make an envelope for is a 5-1/4 x 5-1/4 square card. The paper knife has a little tab you can lock it into, but its already loose and Ive only taken it off four times. Im going to have to find something to keep this in so I dont loose the paper knife.

At first, I thought this was a cheap throw-away item that I would never use. It's just too small. But then, I stumbled on the video for making envelopes, and I was intrigued. I searched for and found more videos and discovered that this little board makes perfect envelopes of many different sizes from tiny to almost 8 inches square, and it's super easy. I was easily able to find a size chart that includes many more sizes than what are printed on the board. These envelopes come out just a good as the ones made with more expensive envelope punch boards.

The media could not be loaded. I wanted a scoring board for some of the crafting projects that I do. This one works perfectly well for my purposes which is mostly scoring cardstock so it will fold where I want to fold. The measurements on the side of the board are a little hard to see for me personally. I will probably mark it with a pen or a piece of tape, or maybe put a little dab with my acrylic paint pen. I like that the scoring tool attaches to the board itself to help keep you from losing it, although it is a little loose it should work. There are some very basic instructions on the back for making an envelope which for the life of me I can't figure out. I'm not sure if I'll be doing that anytime soon.
