Probably best for short hair

These arent anything amazing but they feel nice on the scalp. They do get tangled in longer hair though. Work great for shorter or bald hairstyles.

A step up from dollar store quality

These are cheap "scalp massagers". I sincerely would expect to find these at the dollar store. They're plastic with little metal balls (that move) embedded in the prongs. I wouldn't pay more than $2 a piece for these things. They work as well as my hairbrush. If I need a scalp massage I can just brush my hair instead of having these things get tangled in my hair. And honestly, I'm not a fan of this style - the thinner pronged ones that you place on the top of your head are more tension-releasing than these are.

Small handheld scalp massager

This is a set of two small handheld scalp massagers, with 5 ball-tipped fingers. It is a plastic tool, and feels like it could easily snap if enough pressure was put on it (either in use or in storage/transport). That said, it does what it advertises- provides a simple scalp massage. It's easy to use with whatever motion is most comfortable and relaxing to you. I don't find it to get tangled in my long hair, but I have fine, thin hair that isn't easily tangled/knotted. My son likes to use this, too, for a calming head or back massage from Mom before bed; I find it to be light enough that it's not distracting or stimulating, but nice and light, for relaxation. Overall, it's a decent idea but I'm not sure if everyone would appreciate the simplicity versus the cost; it is a bit higher priced than what I think it's worth.

Good idea for stocking stuffer

This is a good idea for a stocking stuffer, they're small enough to fit in a purse or a drawer without taking up a lot of unnecessary room. They are on the flimsy side however, so if you're heavy-handed this might break. They do feel nice to your scalp. They give a cooling type of massage as the ends are metal. If you're not familiar with these types of things be prepared for a very interesting (in a good way) sensation to your head. It unlocks a new feeling that you didn't know could exist on your head. But over all they're decent and would make a great gift add on idea. So if you're needing that something extra to add to a gift bag, this would be something I would consider.
