Shawhan Farms Gourmet Parmesan Inspirations Truffle Seasoning Topper Finishing Blend - 8 Oz...

I've never been a big user of parmesan cheese as a topping, and I don't really have an adequate reason for why. It's not that I don't like the flavor, I think it might have more to do with the texture and dousing things that I want to be creamy (like pasta) or hot and gooey (like cheesy pizza or mac & cheese) and then adding a weird dry powdery texture to the top. But maybe it's just that I've been having bad or old stale parmesan, because as we've been experimenting with this bottle of Shawhan Truffle parmesan topping on pizzas, mac & cheese, and other pastas I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I like the flavors it's adding and the added bit of dryness is falling by the wayside and being properly absorbed by the entrees in question. The pizza with the added parmesan was especially nice since the cheese, plentiful tomato sauce (I tend to make my pizzas with an extra helping of sauce), and big tomato slices offset any saltiness the parmesan was adding and instead all I got from it was the cheese and truffle flavoring which was quite pleasant. Ultimately, we've been quite pleased with this as a topper in terms of texture and flavor, so we wouldn't be averse to picking it up again. ***Overall Value*** The only reason we MIGHT hesitate to do so is the price, which, at $18 (at the time of review) for 8 ounces seems like a lot. Even with the "truffle" add-in, it's not the easiest valuation to swallow.

Nevertheless, as someone who appreciates truffle but only to a degree, this one has been a great addition to some of my dishes and doesnt cost too much for the amount provided. Based on price, I recommend this product. Overall, using this seasoning topper makes me happy every time because it simply elevates the taste of my food.

This truffle seasoning definitely takes some getting used to. I've only tried truffle a few times before, and generally it tastes good as long as you pair it well with your dish. I made some truffle french fries with this seasoning and it came out great! The seasoning is fresh and the flavor is strong. Great way to introduce yourself to new flavors.

Kind of gives off an almost creamy and crunchy parmesan taste to me and I just really don't prefer it at all. It's just a weird blend of truffle and parmesan and it just doesn't sit right with me, almost even a bit of a fish-type taste and I am just NOT a fan. I have tried it on various dishes from pasta to pizza and for me I just could NOT get into it at all. In addition to all that there is a LOT of salt so that would require you adjusting a lot of dishes you make with it so that is DEFINITELY something to keep in mind as well. Just no matter how much I wanted to like this to me it just is too weird of a blend.

Not a very strong flavor, but more delicate. It's tasty. And great on fries, popcorn, baked potato and even pasta with buttah.
