My dog has been going to obedience school and I notice they used a leash like this for training. Though I would get one to use at home as he pulls when we go for walks. He is not bad just very excited and his bread is a working dog, so he likes to pull. This leash does help when going on walks as it keeps him from pulling so much.

Slip leashes are ideal for training, Ive learned. Now that I have 2 mini dachshunds puppies, I need a slip leash. I love the padded handle of this one. I also love the reflective threads in the rope. My pups now get excited when I pull out the slip leash and are happy when we use it!

I like to keep a couple of slip leads on hand; I usually have one at home and one in the console of my car. They come in handy if we are transporting a dog that doesn't have a collar on, or if we come across a stray dog that we are trying to catch. This slip lead is made of strong rope with a nicely padded handle; it works for all sizes of dogs. The lead can be left loose on the dog's neck so it acts like a Martingale collar or adjusted to fit the dog's neck like a traditional collar. The six foot length is the one that I use most and prefer.

I have a large fearful German Shepherd and I have to go to a closet to get her for her to go outside. She associates the leash with "bye byes", which she loves, so she lets me slip it over her head, something that can be done with one hand---so much easier than struggling with a "latch" type leash. It is padded and is comfortable and feels strong which makes her easily walk with me without her "hitting the brakes" and making it tighten. I think a standard leash attached to a collar around the neck feels like it has room in it should she stop to balk---and it feeds the idea she can pull her head out of the collar. But this super soft padded leash closes comfortably, all one piece, and does not have that "give" in it--she walks easily as soon as it is on her neck and is learning for her fears to subside--and that I can put it on and off with one hand is amazing. It stays firmly, and does not "slack" as soon as you release tension. It is the best I have ever used for my rescues!!

Leather slip stopper is nice, these are often plastic on similar leashes, the purpose is to prevent the leash from being too wide around the collar while in use which otherwise could result in dog escaping the leash. Worked well with both of my dogs, one being a strong puller and the other who likes to use the entire length of a leash. Very good price for the quality.
