Not great for small pellet food ...

So the product is a great idea, especially if you already have an existing food bowl you'd like to use it in. It's great for the price when compared to purchasing a slow feeder bowl. However depending on the size of the food pellets you are using, they get trapped towards the bottom suction cups and are hard for your dog to eat. Unfortunately I cannot return the item as I trimmed some of the edges off to fit into my dogs bowl.

Better than others I've tried

My cat inhales her food like there's no tomorrow. I've tried a few other "slow feeders," and they've not been that great. This one works better, though she still can finish in no time, it's nothing like not using one. This is easy to clean, fits in her bowl nicely, and seems to be durable enough for long usage. I'll keep using it, it's worth it.

Works way better than anticipated. The suction on this is is incredible. Fingers crossed it doesnt become a chew toy.

Great little tool to slow my dog

I like that this insert goes into a bowl you already have. So you don't have to replace existing items or throw away your perfectly working ones. My new dog still acts like he is a starving homeless hound, so I tried a few slow feeding mats to slow him down. This one stays put in the stainless steel bowl, suction cups are strong and when I need to wash it, I peel it off and toss it into the dishwasher.

Not sure for my pug

Still trying to see if I can make it work. It certainly slows my pug down from eating, but maybe too much. She has a hard time getting the food. I like that it can be cut to size around the edges so I might try to trim the top a little and see if that helps. Her short snout and little tongue make it harder to get her food. But I'm going to keep trying. I've tried several different slow feeders, and this one is my favorite so far. I just need to make it work a little better for her. I think dogs with a normal snout and tongue would be fine.
