My son collects playing cards as a hobby and he loves these. He does not invest in them for collection but uses his cards. He said that these are very easy to handle and a good texture. Still very new and not yet broken in but not slippery like some new cards. The designs are authentic time period. I'd recommend for something different. The suits are not the usual, but the ones of the time period. Makes the games more interesting. Certainly a good set of cards to bring to a party for conversation piece. If you have a friend or family member who has just about every card ever made, this is a good gift to add to their collection and potentially not something already in their inventory.

This deck of, Worlds Oldest Playing Cards from Ancient Toys is based on the oldest known full set of playing cards from the 15th century. I had heard of how things have changed with playing cards over the years, however I have never had a replica deck of those cards so I was rather curious about it! The deck of cards appears exactly as shown on the listing here. The playing card deck's box is pretty standard, nothing much stands out about it, just a typical quality playing card deck box. The next thing I noticed from the cards was that the finish on the cards is nothing too special. The cards glide alright, but not as smooth as most other decks of playing cards I use. I figure, considering how unique the artwork is on these playing cards, and that I wont be playing with them too often, I can overlook that! The artwork on the rear of the cards is fine, but what stands out are the cards. The suits here are the Nooses, Collars, Tethers, and Horns. All things related to hunting at that time. Another detail that caught me was that the face cards all differ from each other! King of Tethers has a different appearance from the King of Horns for example. The artwork printed on the cards also looks good, not blurry or anything. I find this to be a very unique deck of playing cards and I look forward to how theyll add a bit of a change to card games due to how the suits differ!

A history lesson in every deck

I love that the twist to this pack of playing cards is that it is based on the very first originals which are 500 years old and oval. Creating toys that are also history lessons is such a good idea.
