Where have these been all my life!

These buttons are great for either making your jeans tighter OR looser. They're very durable, stay in place, and didn't come off in the washing machine when I forgot to remove them from a pair of shorts. Quite the handy little product!

Did not work as described

I returned these because they were either impossible to pull apart, or once you got them apart and on the pants, they would come loose. Totally useless,

Very cute and do the job

Reviews are mixed and I think most of the reason is because the mechanism requires some dexterity and finger strength along with the backs being long and potentially digging into the skin. You can use 2 fingernails to pull on the small end piece so that it opens and comes off or you can squeeze in between the two flat parts and pull. Your fingers should be naturally be "fat" enough to push them apart and release it. Otherwise, use one finger(nail) to push on the bigger flat part while using the other hand to squeeze and pull. You want to see some space open up on the smaller end while you pull. It will make sense when you're trying it and looking at it. As far as digging into the skin, I think that can be avoided by analyzing how your fat/muscle is distributed and picking an area that dips in. For me, the middle of my back and the front sides by my pelvic bones are the least likely places for the pins to push into bone or create uncomfortable indents in my skin. Other than that, they are super adorable. I would like to be able to just keep it on my pants but I don't think they'll last long if I throw them in the wash. That's the only truly annoying part, if I have to keep taking them off and on.

Not strong enough to tighten jeans

These look great but Ive had an issue with the back popping off when I use it to cinch in the waist of my shorts. Two reasons: 1- The stem is not long enough for the thicker material of jeans when pleated to tighten waistband. 2- The locking feature is a sound idea but perhaps the groves on the stem are not deep enough to correctly lock in the back when under pressure. Im keeping them because there are other uses but only 3 stars because of underwhelming performance.
