This is one of the nice surface mount Ethernet boxes I've used. I love the fact it's UL listed. It's fully shielded. As long as you have a punch down tool, these are very easy to use. I'm planning to use a few of these on an exterior wall so I will try to figure out how to waterproof it. The outer casing snaps tightly closed so I think with a little caulk around where the cable comes in and the Ethernet port pointing down, it should work just fine. So far I have found these a pleasure to work with.

These jacks are extremely durable and are easy to install. Most of our office is Cat5, but I needed a couple Cat6 jacks for a backhaul. I figured I would give these a try. I like that these jacks come with both adhesive and screws necessary for either installation. Punching down and securing the cables went faster than standard keystones. This is my new go-to surface mount jack solution.

You get 5 of these surface mount boxes. They are packaged separately because they come with so many little accessories to make it all come together. The package shows what the colors mean. It also has all the little pieces (even the screws) that you'll need to add an ethernet outlet. It seems like they thought about this a lot because some pieces are hidden until you get to that step. The connection part is big enough for me to work on even with my big hands. So, I do like these. I'm only using 1 for right now but I might use another to add an outlet to a new desk I built into the wall in my guest room.

Fast and easy installation. Only would have liked clearer instructions, since this is mainly being marketed for home use but has 2 wiring organizations presented which required some research.

These go really well with cable pass-thru wall plates - the advantage being that the jack can be placed anywhere in the room and/or moved around if desired. This is in contrast to the typical ethernet wall plate jack that sits in a fixed location requiring a potential lengthy cable attached. I literally never used my punch down tool until I got these, and it was a breeze. I can attach one of these to a cable in a fraction of the time it takes to terminate with a pass-thru crimp-on terminator. In addition, these are shielded, but cannot be grounded, so it for proper shielding, you'd need to ground the cable at the other end. The nicest aspect is the convenience of a semi-permanent ethernet jack at a convenient location in the room. I personally prefer desk over wall any day of the week. Only issue i noticed is that the printed instructions as far as color order are not correct. You need to go by the colors next to the punch downs for the correct sequence.
