uni-ball Jetstream Retractable Ballpoint Pen...

OK, this is just a REALLY NICE PEN. I bought a different model Uniball Jetstream by mistake, and it wasn't anything special. You want the RT. This one, you really are just surprised by the smoothness and evenness of the ink flow for a pen that isn't gel style. Buy in confidence. (This is on a first try, not long term use.) Nice blue, too.

I used this for keepi,g notes of my financial dealings. It smoothly lays down a clear black line.

I am a designer and am obsessed with these pens. No ink on my palm after drafting on carbon paper. Good quality, dries super fast, sharp point, but thick enough to make good impression. Super smooth writing for long contracts.

After reading the Wire Cutter review, I decided to buy a package of these and test them. The writing is indeed smooth, however the light weight(11 grams)and platicky feel of the pen detracts from the experience. I also bought a pushbutton Jetstream Prime pen weighing prhaps 20 to 25 grams for under $10. It came with a 0.7 refill though, which geels scratchy compared to the 1.0 thatcame with the RT. As for the price, at $1.75 a pen for the RT, the almost as good BIC Glide(Velocity) seems like a much better value at less than half the price. The Velocity is also very smooth and smudge resistant. In the past I have used mostly Parker, and Papermate Lubriglide pens, however I also own an authentic Mont Blanc ballpoint, and some Lamy ballpoint pens. The Lamy Logo at around $16 seems like a good value for a premium quality pen(I recently bought a second one). The Montblanc pens Imo aren't worth the price. I bought the Parker pens years ago when the pricing was much better.

I discovered this pen by accident - someone left it behind, to my good fortune. I liked it so much that I bought a box of them. Everything you read in other 5-star reviews is spot on: easy grip, effortless 'buttery smooth' writing - like a gel pen but even better - and I can confirm that the ink doesn't smear if you write over yellow highlighter (or vice versa). No ink blob at the tip, which can happen to a gel pen. Overall, a really good value for the price. I'm down to 11 now, because my wife snagged one for herself. The only suggestion I would have for the Uniball Jetstream would be a version of this pen with a stylus tip - it would be useful for mobiles and tablets. I'd surely buy a box of those just for my wife (and I'd snag one for myself).
