I use this for my agenda and regular note taking on "regular " paper like journals, etc. Works fine, no issues with lead, and erases great with a prismacolor magic rub eraser.

I bought what I thought I had purchased before, and was upset when it was a darker shade (due to being a different brand completely, lol). I almost returned it, because my scanner will pick up too much of this shade, but decided to keep it and use it just for sketching. Glad I did, because the mechanics of the pencil are so much better than what I had. The other brand had issues with something making leads break because an alignment would go off after a while, I went through three. I should have tried a different brand sooner, thought it was just that the colored lead was more fragile. Also, when the lead needs to be replaced, it gets much shorter. I'm no longer wasting so much lead :). Also, the darker color is much easier to see when sketching, I can easily replace the lead with a lighter shade for drawings I want to scan. Even the wrong color was a fortunate mishap.

Purchased this set because I wanted to get blue lead for a mechanical pencil and this was the best deal with a bonus mechanical pencil included. The blue lead color is nice but not especially dark. The lead is softer than normal lead so wears down faster. I have had no issues with the lead breaking, the writing being difficult to erase, or having the writing smudge after it is on the paper. It works very well for taking notes. The pencil itself is decent and comfortable for writing. The little eraser is useless but I have a larger one I use for erasing. All in all I'm happy with the purchase and enjoy having a different color lead to take notes with.

Purchased this mechanical pencil mainly because I wanted the two packages of blue lead. I was hoping that the color blue would be similar to the blue that copy machines ignore. However, that was not the case. This blue does show up lightly (compared to regular pencil lead) when I copy an sketch - which is probably light enough for what I am working on. The mechanical pencil is Ok, being made of plastic it's very lightweight. It feels good in my hand when writing/sketching - so I will probably use it rather than tossing it into a drawer. I'm happy with my purchase.
