Not Suited to Planted Paludarium

I like that it can be used with a very shallow water level, but it claims to work for volumes of water up to 10 gallons, and that's just not accurate. Its 4W is far too weak to make a difference. It also really isn't suited for a tank with substrate, as it only has suction cups on one side, and if you stick those to the wall instead of the floor (so the intake is on the side, and the output is on top), that seems to reduce the flow somewhat. Also, who thought it was a good idea for a white device to have a black cord!? If you care about the aesthetics of your tank, you'll need to buy something to hide the cord.

Beware the motor will heat the water

Small pump. Very quiet, but sometimes it would heat up the water and my frogs with it. Unsure why. Had to return.

If you have turtles like me buy this filter! It's quiet and really cleans my sliders aquarium and the turtles love the pumping action.

Works

It works wells with the low water for my baby turtle but does have to be cleaned out every 3-4 days from build up. Its easy to clean and atleast it is filtering the water well!

don't use with newly born tadpoles.

my kid found some tadpoles and decided to watch them grow. We got the filter to see if the water will stay a bit cleaner, after two days we noticed only 5 tadpoles could be seen... thought nothing of it until we lifted the filter. there were the rest of the tadpoles, dead. Sooo, after drying tears and explaining the rules of life , I had built a dam around the filter .water can get in but tadpoles do not
