We work from home a lot and with 4 people in the home there's almost always someone around so our two malamutes rarely have to go into their kennels for alone time which is typically reserved for when no one is home to keep an eye on them. While they have been crate trained, there's still a bit of anxiety because they're malamutes and they really like their humans. However, one of our two pups was rescued from a rough situation and so he's a bit whinier when he has to put in his crate and he's VERY nervous when people he doesn't see regularly are here visiting (like extended family). So when we knew that a week that would have a bit both mixed was coming up, we figured it would be a good time to get him started on some relaxation treats just to make it a little easier on him. While these didn't COMPLETELY take away that anxiety they absolutely made an impact. The two mornings we had to shift the normal daily routine to go out for breakfast we prepped him an hour or two in advance with a healthy dose of these to help him relax while we were gone and for when we returned with a few strangers in tow. Normally, with so many new faces, he'd have spent the morning hiding up on the stairs whining, but with these in his system he was willing to come down and dart in and out of petting range with the new faces. For him, that was a big improvement and proof that to some degree these helped him get over his anxiety. Not completely, but slightly. That by itself is a victory, so we were happy with these. ***Overall Value*** It's not a big bottle of treats, so for our 75-90 lb doggos this supply really did not last long, but they were effective for while they lasted. The 100 count bottle is absolutely the better value though, and next time that's the route we'll go since the value is so much greater and we now know they do have an impact on our pup.

First, this is from a country I trust, so I feel good giving it to my girl. I jumped on the chance to try it, although I missed the senior part as I was focused on the Glucosamine HCl (right amount from my research) and Chondroitin Sulfate (should be almost double) for joints and combined with Probiotics (probably a bit overkill for a large breed dog, as my regular ones are the same amount for the cats as they are for her, the same with humans- a 125lb person takes the same as someone 250lbs) as these will be great when we travel as she gets a joint chew daily but the Probiotics are more as needed, and travel is a definite reason to give them daily to keep their gut under control! It doesn't expire until 2/26 so it should get us through our travels in the next (almost) 2 years. And yay, she likes them!! (yes, she had a supplement she wouldn't touch) As for the other ingredients: *No extra gunk *Turkey tail is good for immune, another important thing in a new environment for my girl. *Biotin isn't something she needs but it's good for energy and such, and when we travel she works harder and is "on" more than in a familiar environment. *NEGATIVE- I'd like to see more salmon oil instead of flaxseed oil. Omega-3's from fish are the best out there and amazing for skin, allergies, health, etc. *Unsure of Vitamin E... preservative maybe? Overdose is rare but it can cause clotting issues. *Lutein I had to research- it's for eyes and an antioxidant. But things say 20mg, moderate, etc. So 650mcg = 0.65mg so seems ok for her to have. The downside- price is 2x her joint chews. Even I add in the cost of the probiotic I give her, this is still more.

She's a 70lb GSD mix, and usually she'll hide in her crate or under the desk during a storm. Nothing severe, but even with desensitization training she's not a fan of thunder/lightning. So when a bad storm is rolling in, I'll give her a few calming treats to take the edge off a bit. These particular calming treats are great because they don't contain melatonin. Calming supplements with melatonin are great for during the night, but I'm hesitant to give them during the day. Usually she'll be a little groggier even after they've worn off and she seems to have a bit more trouble getting to sleep--presumably because they messed with her sleep cycle. These Veterinary Formula calming treats don't exactly put her to sleep, but she'll be back to her normal self. During a storm, she'll come out of her crate and come chill with us on the couch. But they don't make her a zombie for the rest of the day or the following day. They arrived fresh, sealed, and undamaged. These are my new daytime calming treats.

We have 3 rescue dogs who all have various times when a supplement like this would be helpful. First of all, 2 of our 3 gobbled up their chews. The third was more hesitant, but even he eventually ate it and decided it was pretty good. I was super surprised our very picky girl ate these without hesitation. She's never met a human food she didn't like, but when it comes to dog food and treats, she leaves them on the floor more than she eats. That being said, these possibly worked for one of our dogs who does not like thunder. She seemed to whine a little less than normal. The other two dogs, however, had no results. I'll continue using them for her when we see a storm headed out way on radar, so she doesn't have the opportunity to get so anxious in the first place. These chews are cheap enough that I'd give them a try to see if they work for your dog, especially before going the prescribed drug route. Don't expect a miracle, but they are worth giving a try.
